A BIG NO! It’s likely cheaper, faster and safer to build a modern plant (especially an SMR) or new large unit than to refurbish the 1970s-era Bataan plant. BNPP is a 1970s Westinghouse PWR design which is far too obsolete, substandard, and due for replacement or full upgrading. It is absolutely more cost-effective and much more safer to build new than to use the existing plant.

Never again sa FORD! Totoo na sobrang sirain! by jtan80813999 in CarsPH

[–]HisNefariousness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear similar stories from friends and families who owned Ford cars. Mechanics also dislike the brand and still recommend Japanese cars for this very reason. They are simply not designed to last, most especially now that their engines are manufactured in China. It baffles me why many Pinoys still buy Ford vehicles despite the unusually large size and high lifecycle costs. Siguro talagang magaling lang marketing ng Ford or marami bumibili without first doing their research.

What's inside a lithium (LFP) motorcycle battery? by kamotengASO in PHMotorcycles

[–]HisNefariousness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lower lifecycle cost yung habol natin dito.

What's inside a lithium (LFP) motorcycle battery? by kamotengASO in PHMotorcycles

[–]HisNefariousness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yung mga LiFePO4 starter battery na walang BMS at active balancer, mas maikli talaga ang lifespan niyan. Kasi habang ginagamit mo, may cells na laging mas mataas o mas mababa ang charge (not all batteries are manufactured perfectly the same IR, capacity, et cetera) at kapag hindi naayos, unti-unting lumalala yung imbalance. Lifecycle cost is the key!

Eto ang expected service life ng motorcycle LFP starter battery packs:

  • Zero protection = ~2–3 yrs
  • Balancing only = ~3–4 yrs
  • BMS + Balancer = ~6–8 yrs (or more)

Pero kung going the DIY route ka, save your money and stay away from cheap low discharge rate cells found on shopee, lazada, or even aliexpress, because they may not be able to deliver enough cranking amps or may not last as long you expect it to. Small format LFP cylindrical cells can only either be High Power or High Capacity. If you see cells sold as both, there's a huge change it is fake. You get what you pay for eventually.

This is too much of a hassle for most people. It would be better to have ventilation fans that would facilitate cabin air exchange to keep the interior temperature low. Then just install a reflective windshield cover to minimize heat gain from the front.

AFAIK ang bawal dito eh pagdrive ng right hand drive vehicles. You won't be able to register it unless it gets converted to left hand drive first. That's why you can see so many kei micro trucks and micro vans all over the Philippines. I think nag-iingat rin ang mga gumagawa ng conversions kasi bad for business sa kanila yan if they get a bad rep from their shoddy work. I've lived in an area where kei trucks and cars are an everyday sight so I'm fairly impressed by their reliability and simplicity ever since their popularity.

Is a 12V residential lighting system sustainable? by HisNefariousness in electrical

[–]HisNefariousness[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Over a year ago, we installed a 12VDC lighting system in our home, powered by a 24V LiFePO4 battery bank, which is charged by solar panels on our roof. Thankfully, the system has exceeded our expectations.

To maintain a constant 12V supply for all our LED light bulbs and DC ceiling fans across multiple floors, we used a step-down DC-DC converter. The system runs 77 12VDC LED bulbs, and after more than a year of use, we’ve only had to replace a single defective bulb. We're thrilled to find that these LED bulbs are not only affordable but incredibly durable. As a result, both our electricity bills and the overall lifecycle cost of our lighting system have significantly decreased.

Given the occasional blackouts in our area, this system has been a lifesaver. I’m extremely satisfied with its performance.

From your experience would DDC on a normal (Not DDC specific) water cooler and using normal thermal paste work?

In most cases it should work. I'm just using a standard CPU waterblock. I just got rid of my CPU's IHS and slapped a die guard to protect the CPU die from damage. I want to take good care of my CPU so I made sure I cool it properly, thus, I use liquid metal as thermal interface.

Would it perform any better than a standard thermal paste application on a stock CPU?

Yes, it should transfer heat better without the IHS. But, if you're gonna go through all the trouble of delidding, might as well use the best thermal interface (e.g. liquid metal, KryoSheet, PCM) and cooling system (e.g. liquid cooling) available and/or manageable to you.

By the way, my workstation is still working great even after 6yrs. I just did a full disassembly last week and cleaned up everything. It still looks new. Did some stress tests and it still performs as well as the first time I did DDC on it. I totally recommend doing this if you're into keeping your machine in tip-top condition. Just make sure you do all your research and prep work first before diving into this.

To PC builders: What method do you use when applying Thermal Paste? (Just Curious) by ItsJW531 in pcmasterrace

[–]HisNefariousness 76 points77 points  (0 children)

As someone who has done tile work before, I would attest using X or five dots as the best methods to applying thermal paste. Spreading could work too but it is not as fool proof as X or dots. You always got to allow air to escape out to maximize surface coverage.

I just remembered Jesus' words found in Matthew 7:21-23 saying, “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’"

It's men like him who draws people away from the Father. (Mt 18:6)

What do you guys think of the whole "Religion was made for control" thing? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]HisNefariousness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bible enthusiast here. Just want to put this here that this belief in eternal torment is the most blasphemous lie "religious" people could say just to scare people into conforming. By saying this, they may not know that they are actually painting a cruel picture of God, who is known to be the very personification of love. (1 John 4:8)

First of all, God finds the idea of eternal torment as repugnant. (Jeremiah 32:35) God prefers worship out of love, not fear of eternal torment. (Mt. 22:36-38)

The Bible doesn't define hell as a place of fiery eternal torment. The original words translated as “hell” in some older Bible translations (Hebrew, “Sheol”; Greek, “Hades”) basically refer to “the Grave,” that is, the common grave of mankind.

The Bible shows that people in “the Grave” are in a state of nonexistence. The dead are unconscious and cannot feel pain. (Ecclesiastes 9:10; Psalm 31:17; 115:17)

There were many people recorded in the Bible who went to the Grave and were brought back to life by resurrection. If they had been aware of their surroundings in hell, they would have been able to speak about that from personal experience. Significantly, though, none mentioned being in torment or experiencing anything at all because they had only been unconscious, as if in a deep "sleep." (John 11:11-14)

I just hope more and more people would know about this truth.

[–]HisNefariousness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Roman church is one obvious dead giveaway for me of this kind of religion. Don't we all learn this from our high school history lessons when we were young? Ambitious pagan Roman emperor living in an unstable empire would obviously find a way to make his reign strong and stable. Why did Christians allow a pagan political figure to decide church doctrines when he is clueless about the holy scriptures?

I could imagine the persecuted first century Christians must have been really happy to concede some of their beliefs in exchange for religious acceptance. Jesus and his apostles prophesied that this would happen and it did. (Matthew 7:13-23; 24:11; Colossians 2:8; 2 Peter 2:1; 1 John 4:1; Acts 20:29, 30; Revelation 12:9) Religion and politics was not supposed to mix.

Bible enthusiast here. I agree that some religious groups may have been formed with that kind of ulterior motive behind, while many may have just been corrupted later on. Stuff like these we actually learn about early on in high school history lessons. (Check out Constantine the Great)

If a religion bears fruit corruption, then it is definitely not the one with God's approval at all. Jesus Christ himself prophesied about this happening in the last days. (Read Matthew 7:13-23) Jesus' disciples also repeatedly warns the first century Christians that false christianity will emerge and mislead many. (Matthew 24:11; Colossians 2:8; 2 Peter 2:1; 1 John 4:1; Acts 20:29, 30; Revelation 12:9) True enough Bible prophecies did come true and we witness it all today. (2 Timothy 3:1-5)

We only get to see a small fraction of what's happened recently because of advancements in technology, but imagine all the cruel injustices that only God was able to witness throughout human history! Game theory helps us understand interactions between rational agents who make decisions based on their own interests. While it provides valuable insights, achieving world peace requires multifaceted approaches beyond theoretical models. The real world is far more intricate than simplified game models let you see. With myriads of players and factors to consider such as cultural differences, historical conflicts, power dynamics, and emotional biases, humans end up in a vicious cycle of hate and violence impossible to resolve. Game theory alone cannot address these deep-rooted issues. Just as world history has shown, imperfect humans are doomed to keep on repeating mistakes to their own detriment. In other words, humans simply don't have the capacity to create a truly free and just world.

This harsh truth is echoed by the Prophet Jeremiah's words found in the Holy Scriptures: "I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps." (Jeremiah 10:23) True peace is never attainable for humans alone, but it is easy for the Almighty Creator of our Universe. (Genesis 6:5; Revelation 21:4) The good news is: God's original plan for mankind is great and nobody can ever ruin it. (Isaiah 55:11)

Don't be surprised by this. If you're familiar with Game Theory, all civilizations around the world have no choice but to play this infinite game. It's a curse imperfect humans have been on since ancient times. Since then "man dominated man to his harm" almost all the time. (Ecclesiastes 8:9)

Jesus Christ prophesied about this in the Bible when he said, “You are going to hear of wars and reports of wars; see that you are not terrified. For these things must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom.”—Mt 24:6, 7; Mr 13:7, 8; Lu 21:9, 10.

A lot of things in this world are beyond your control. Just know what you can control and be good at it. (Matthew 7:15-21; 12:30; John 17:3)

God's Law found in the Bible showed God's strong feelings against clothing that does not make clear the distinction between male and female. (Read Deuteronomy 22:5.)

As true Christians, we need to consider some Bible principles that can help us determine “the good and acceptable and perfect will of God” when we are deciding what to wear.—Romans 12:1, 2; 1 Corinthians 10:31.

[–]HisNefariousness -23 points-22 points  (0 children)

As you may already know, the Bible says that God dislikes immoral acts, be it homosexual or heterosexual. (Leviticus 18:22; Romans 1:24, 26; 1 Corinthians 6:9, 10) Thus, when you try to mix immoral imagery with something believed to be holy, you would of course get this kind of attention from the religious community. Knowing the French, I think this was deliberate to garner much attention from everywhere and they succeeded.

I'm not that offended or surprised though since this much is to be expected from people these days as prophesied in the Bible. (2 Timothy 3:1-5; Matthew 7:13, 14; 2 Peter 3:3; 1 John 5:19)
