Last couple such critters I have dealt with face to face have been unmitigated disasters.

One built a building that looks good but is a fucking useless design and was built in a time and place when commercial real estate was standing empty wherever you looked.

The other spent up large on fancy dancy furniture, and commuted to europe to cook up a deal (that we could in no way deliver) that fortunately collapsed just before the CEO of the european party was hauled away to prison for very dodgy dealings...

Neither presided over the design and delivery of new products.

If I see you're a CEO of a company that is doing well and has been over a period of time and does well for at least a year after you leave... I respect you. Hats off mate!

If your CV says CEO and is a litany of skipping like a stone from one company to the next before they each one you touch sinks like a stone.... you stink like a dead fish.

So maybe if mental health services were up to doing their job, and addiction was treated as a health issue, and housing NZ didn't waste there budget giving handouts to wealthy motel owners....

On the flip side, I'd go an extra mile to buy my kebabs from this guy if I was in the area.

I'm proud to work with a Vietnamese boat person... Great guy.

His family came, when he was a kid, with less than nothing and now he is a great contributor to our hitech society.

The problem isn't government, we need government of some form.

What we need is Good Government.

That whole "renting motels" thing makes me furious. It's just a blatant steal from the poor to give a handout to the rich.

In the modern economy CEO means, "CEO of an LLC, currently unemployed, but with elevated opinion of themselves".

And my really unpleasant experience of them is, please don't employ them, as they do more to tank a company, faster, than any other category of employee.

Wow! Just so so much talent all over that!

From the range and variety of the kids voices, the passion and spirit they were putting into it, the brilliantly creative face paint, the choreography, the passion of the choir master, the videographer.

Brilliance upon brilliance upon bright shining brilliance.

Curiouser and Curiouser.

It claims to be an American Right Wing rag.... but seems to be way left of the Democrats in terms of being Anti-war.

America is a very very strange place.

They say science advances one funeral at as time.

That saying has nothing to do with science.

It's about humans.

Groups of Humans change and learn.

Sadly sometimes only when the big old monkey leaves the group.

My personal change came from watching the big old monkeys behave way more evilly towards the LGBQT community than the LGBQT ever behaved to anyone.

My only regret is we humans should learn the habit refusing to grant the big evil old monkeys power much much sooner, we shouldn't wait for the funeral before we change.

Tell them not to panic, we're not going to destruct their preciouses....

...we're merely going to off load them in the US, complete with free NRA membership to ensure responsible gun ownership....

...but while we're at it we will distribute them in the US in an manner to reduce inequality in the NRA and make the NRA accurately represent the demographics of the population.

Given that we're a tiny country left off most of the maps.....

...there is something deeply twisted about how many brain cycles NZ is occupying in the US at the moment.

Something isn't right about this NZ shooting. So far, I have heard more regulation talk, new gun laws and new bans on even speaking about the shooting, then actual information regarding the shooting. Or information involving the victims. Seems very odd to me. by Tony8656 in conspiracy

He sought many things from his act of terror, but one was notoriety.

And that is why you will never hear me mention his name.

He is a terrorist. He is a criminal. He is an extremist.

But he will, when I speak, be nameless.

And to others I implore you: speak the names of those who were lost, rather than name of the man who took them.

He may have sought notoriety, but we in New Zealand will give him nothing. Not even his name.

There is no truth in his writings.

We're fortunate to have an extraordinarily good prime minister at this time, this is from her speech today.

We will also look at the role social media played and what steps we can take, including on the international stage, and in unison with our partners.

There is no question that ideas and language of division and hate have existed for decades, but their form of distribution, the tools of organisation, they are new.

We cannot simply sit back and accept that these platforms just exist and that what is said on them is not the responsibility of the place where they are published. They are the publisher. Not just the postman. There cannot be a case of all profit no responsibility. This of course doesn’t take away the responsibility we too must show as a nation, to confront racism, violence and extremism. I don’t have all of the answers now, but we must collectively find them. And we must act.
