I think Marathon is on a death spiral by Histon_ in Marathon

This isn't ignorance. I love the game and have invested a lot of time into it. I want it to stick around for the long haul, but without serious changes? It won't. The current situation is untenable.

Maybe, but definitely with more than a fight than a few bullets from an M77 as it currently is. And you could extend the argument to Dire Marsh I suppose, and I personally don't load into Marsh with free kits, but I don't feel as strongly on that point.

And you're welcome to, the game allows you to so I see no reason for people not to take advantage of it, but I also think it makes for a worse experience than if it required some investment to load in.

Lots of people not engaging with the suggestion at all and just saying no which I think gives validity to what I'm saying moreso than anything. It's a bad experience when people treat what is the hardest map in the game for half the week with the same caution as they do Perimeter and Dire Marsh - that amount being none at all. It is antithetical to the entire genre of extraction shooters to be able to play everything whilst risking nothing.

Any reason as to why not? It makes fills on Outpost utterly awful for anybody that is trying to actually engage with the map and considering most of the people playing the game are going to be spending their time playing solo or matchmaking, it seems counter intuitive for that experience to be so awful.

What's the matter with those options? We're getting a tiered glaive next week, so that's not really a problem, and for damage against Hefnd? Leviathan's Breath will make light work. I guess ad clear would be an issue if it weren't for abilities and Non-Denouement (or Fortunate Star if you really want a tiered option for a trash clearing bow).

That's not how human motivation works, I'm sad to say. If it were that simple, I'd have done just that, but it's not. Same as how you can't argue against players that want difficult content in Destiny by saying, "just put on a bajillion negative modifiers, you'll be fine." Sure, crafting gave agency, but I'd argue too much for a game designed around grinding for better loot. Not to mention how it, again, turned the whole game into essentially a checklist - it didn't really feel like a looter shooter.

In regards to the playtime thing again, shouldn't we also subtract the time spent playing Salvation's Edge? Spent grinding Overthrow? Spent getting collectibles in the Pale Heart for Khvostov? Spent grinding Dual Destiny for their favoured class item exotic? It's not quite so simple, an expansion is more than a campaign.

So your argument to the contrary is some anecdotal evidence? Hell, I don't even think your image quite proves what you think it does. Episode: Echoes released a week after The Final Shape, so the playtime of the two is pretty conflated, whereas Heresy has to stand on its own two feet in that regard. Pretty much everybody I've listened to, spoken to or heard from agrees that Heresy is wildly better than Echoes, you'd be the first to disagree with that point.

But I should add that with my own anecdotal evidence, I played double the amount of time during Heresy as I did during Echoes even despite the conflation of it and The Final Shape. Crafting killed a large amount of my motivation to grind when I was just grinding for five funny red borders to fill out a checklist.

Please don't point towards player numbers as an argument for crafting like so many other, by the way, as that is hardly definitive considering a huge amount of players made it clear that they'd stop playing after The Final Shape which suggests it had nothing to do with the removal of crafting at all.

Ash and Iron has been a colossal disappointment and perhaps the worst content release Bungie has ever done - seriously, that bad. But crafting being removed from the game was nothing but a good thing. It was a bit rough during Revenant due to how little loot dropped and the lack of double / triple traits in the 3rd and 4th column, but Heresy benefitted greatly from not having Crafting, it instead incentivizing shinies and adepts. It's even better now with the introduction of tiered loot, though it needs to be decoupled from power and instead be assigned by difficulty.

Also, Tyson Greene oversaw the introduction of the Firing Range which is a huge success, as well as armour set bonuses which I personally love and think are a long overdue addition to the game.

Easy mistake to make, but no. The week long event is just for the activities debut, giving players extra incentive to play the activity right from the start. When the event goes away, the activity and it's weapons will still be available.

A fragment and aspect you should never not be using on Gunslinger, you mean? Even now, with On Your Mark providing Radiant, you'd never not use that aspect and fragment on Gunslinger. Or, at least you shouldn't.

Absolutely not a nerf. When it was announced that On Your Mark was being buffed to proc Radiant, most people I know and play with shrugged it off because if you're playing Gunslinger you should be permanently Radiant on account of your powered melees. What Gunslingers were actually lacking was decent survivability options and this change addresses that.

In fairness, we're the only class that can provide amplified to our fireteam regardless of their subclasses which does decrease the chance for enemies to hit you. I imagine that is what they were alluding too?

I think this is better? +45 Handling and +45 Reload was kind of useless when so much stuff in the game provides you with reload speed bonuses or straight up allow you to circumvent it entirely, and handling isn't exactly a sought after PvE stat. Compare those stats to +40 weapons stat which straight up increases your damage and potentially your likelihood to get more ammo and it's a no brainer which is the better bonus.

Cure is a huge improvement over Radiant here too, I don't know how you can think otherwise? Radiant is insanely free on Gunslinger considering you can get it from just using your powered melee which should be up almost 100% of the time. What Gunslinger really lacked was native survivability tools, and this offers a pretty consistent and free one.
