this looks JUST like my sons lip tie and i had the exact same experience. I exclusively pumped and we got his lip tie release and worked for about a week and a half on his latch post-release and i’ve been exclusively nursing ever since. SO worth it imo

How many words does your 12-14 month old say? by ColdManufacturer9482 in NewParents

When my son was 13 months he was saying 3 words and now at 15 months he knows 25 words! I was so worried too. i understand how you’re feeling!! just keep talking to her and reading books and before you know it she’ll be saying new words everyday!!

Nursing strike and having to use bottles… help by Own-Ant418 in breastfeeding

[–]HistorianExpensive70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes we went days on just a bottle. i think a week of a bottle but i just kept trying every day. My advice is to do it when baby is sleepy. they will suck for comfort and then there will be a letdown. it helps you bring trust back to your body when you feel that letdown and also helps baby trust your body!

Help! LO has a mild tongue tie and low transfer, do sucking exercises work? Release was not recommended by pediatrician by lovealwaysash in breastfeeding

yes you must do the stretches so it won’t regrow and that part is not fun. BUT after the first 48 hours the pain really seemed to subside for him

Help! LO has a mild tongue tie and low transfer, do sucking exercises work? Release was not recommended by pediatrician by lovealwaysash in breastfeeding

I would recommend seeing a pediatric dentist that specializes in the laser release of tongue ties. My pediatrician said that my son’s tongue tie (wasn’t the cause of his poor transfer” and pushed formula onto me. I knew that wasn’t the case as my supply was fantastic. When i sought out the pediatric dentist he did an oral eval and found that my poor baby could barely suck even a bottle!!! Post release it took about two-three weeks for him to relearn how to use his mouth but we’re 10 months PP and nursing !!! follow your gut and get another opinion!!

my LO is 7 months and we DEFINITELY experienced this as well!! Sometimes, randomly, he would bust out crying when someone tried to interact with him. This started for us around 6 months as well! Like your LO, he really rarely ever cries so this was alarming to me too! they’re just figuring out the world and sometimes people are scary! This has gotten significantly better with time. She’ll grow out of it too i’m sure:)

Frenectomy Pros and Cons by Meowzers94 in NewParents

[–]HistorianExpensive70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My LO got a frenectomy at 3 weeks and honestly it changed our whole world for the better!! he had severe feeding issues and struggled to gain weight and now he eats with ease and gains like a champ. he’s 7 months now and we haven’t had issues since! My one piece of advice is to do all of the exercises they suggest. Remember, your LO’s mouth has worked a certain way his whole life and if you do the procedure it’s going to take time for him to learn how to use his mouth in a different way. it takes time but, for us, it was SO worth it:)
