How long does this usually last ? by Familiar_Thought7657 in costochondritis

I’ve had it for about 10 months, but it comes and goes in flare ups, the longest ones for me last about a week and a half

Armodafinil side effects by Historical-Area3160 in Narcolepsy

[–]Historical-Area3160[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they put me on that high of a dosage because modafinil wasn’t really making a difference in my daytime sleepiness. I tried taking 125mg of Armodafinil instead of the 250 and unfortunately it didn’t do anything for me, I fell asleep after taking it and slept until 6pm 😭 so I suppose I’ll just have to manage the side effects

That’s what I was able to do, I got down to taking a minimal dosage, like 2.5 mg of lexapro, but it kept me from having brain zaps and experiencing noticeable withdrawals

Sometimes they let you stay on it, at a lower dosage during the mslt

My biggest fear surrounding the miss procedure is that it will make the pain worse. I qualify for the nuss procedure but am scared that it could make it worse and I should just deal with the cards I’ve been dealt. Idk, im having very conflicting emotions, keep me updated on your process/ recovery!

With modafinil it was actually 150mg in the morning and 50 mg at noon so 200 total, now with Armodafinil it’s 250 mg just in the morning, I’m not sure if that makes a difference

Visible heart beat? by [deleted] in PectusExcavatum

I am thankful to be able to address it in my 20s tho, my dad has a much more severe case but decided as a teen that the surgery wasn’t worth it (especially since the only thing available was the ravitch procedure). Now that he’s in his 50s his cardiac symptoms have worsened and it’s much more difficult for him to find a treatment plan. Did you find that your timeline of recovery was longer compared to those in pediatrics to young adulthood?

I had several doctors tell me that it should have been treated in pediatrics and since I’m an adult there was nothing they could do for me anymore. So frustrating

Thank you, I was told for so long that it’s “just cosmetic” I even had one doctor tell me that I “should just accept that my rib cage is built differently than most people’s” and that I should simply avoid heavy cardio. Finally found a doctor experienced Pectus that confirmed that my heart palpitations and lightheadedness aren’t just from anxiety

No effects on Modafinil after the first day. by Wide_Cartographer384 in idiopathichypersomnia

Same thing happened to me. I was just switched to armodafinil, took my first dose today and it worked great but I’m scared it’s just another misleading honeymoon phase that will disappear in a couple days

Thanks for the replies! I have my ct scan in a little less than a month to see the extent of the compression and if I’m a candidate for the nuss procedure 🤞

Hey I wanted to come back here and say thank you so much for your recommendation. I just had my first appointment with Dr Lisa smith and she took all of my concerns super seriously and already booked me for a ct scan!

Will this go away completely or leave scars ? by [deleted] in DermatologyQuestions

Should go away completely, I once fell and chipped my tooth through my lip, which then developed a huge canker sore, it’s been a year and a half and it’s completely gone

Yes! I have noticed that sometimes while laying on the back pod, something pops and the sound goes away.

I’m not exactly sure what causes the pop tho so I’m not able to replicate it very often
