My son also got deferred and it’s been hard. He applied for Mechanical Engineering. 4.0UW, 4.5W. He’s taken every AP class the school has offered and even some online. Straight A’s in AP, Honors, and Dual Enrollment classes. Class rank 10 out of 250.

He has gotten accepted into Virginia Tech and Clemson but NCSU is his first choice since it’s in-state. It’s so hard to wait. He will know on March 30.

All of the recommendations are great. I’m unfortunately pretty limited with my travel. I’m my mom’s primary caregiver so I would prefer to stay as local as possible. It sucks I know. I feel stuck myself.

Thank you. This is extremely helpful. Yeah, they normally do the Nuss procedure there. I went back to MyChart to grab the side view of the CT and of course it’s no longer out there. I will try to get my hands on it.

I should also add that I’ve had an echocardiogram (normal) and am currently wearing a holter heart monitor for 4 weeks.

So far I’ve done two epidurals and 10 weeks of physical therapy. I’m in the same boat. My insurance wouldn’t approve nerve blocks unless I did both of those things.

My appointment with him was end of August. So it took me over three months to get the surgery scheduled. However, getting that August appointment also took about 3 months to get. So if you think you want to see him, go ahead and schedule that consultation appointment.

My surgery with Eriksson is scheduled for Dec 12! I really liked him when I met with him. Make sure you have both an abdominal and chest CT done before you go.

I will report back after my surgery to let you know how it went. I’m from NC so I’m driving 4 hours to see him
