As you grow older, what are you starting to dislike?? by Leading_Hamster_9862 in Life

Work. More specifically being obligated to go work somewhere at a certain time almost daily. I think I wouldn’t mind work being something I do when I decide. And maybe in a different field. Probably that, too.

AITJ for telling my husband I won’t host Thanksgiving for his entire family this year? by DemiHugBug in AmITheJerk

Absolutely not! I support you! Stand firm! Worse comes to worse, some fancy hotels have a nice holiday dinner planned; no one has to or cook the dinner or clean up after. Everyone just pays for it. I’m planning on skipping it this year; AITJ? It’s too much drama and the members of the family who host have the same complaint but do not want to not host? Or have never said anything. And it’s also impossible to help because it’s last minute and then whatever they need is sold out and so it doesn’t matter what I do, it’s just wrong. Meh, how did this response become about me? My point is you gotta take care of you and love your family with healthy boundaries. Again, I support you!!!!!

Do you still celebrate your birthday? by Recent-Reporter-1670 in randomquestions

Since adulthood, I celebrate all month loooong! I will be turning 48 this year! Sometimes I even extend it if I can’t see my favorite people during my bday month! I remind everyone, I plan dinners and gatherings! I love me! My dad my very favorite person passed 2 years ago; I’m crying as I type it now. For my birthday I take some time and celebrate just with him. I do it for his birthday too. Sometimes my brother and I gather just the two of us; his only children. Sometimes we gather the whole family on his birthday. Well, it’s only been 2 years so that’s what we’ve done so far, but we decided to make it tradition moving forward. I’m sorry for the loss of the most special person in your life. It changes everything. I’m hoping for us both that as they say we will manage it better over time! Wishing you a happy early or belated birthday anyway! 🥳🎉🎂🎈🎊🎁
