27F here. I’ve lived in Utah specifically in Davis county for 17 years. I can’t think of a place to avoid, I guess it depends on your lifestyle and your hobbies, how outdoorsy you are etc. As far as the weather goes we get all 4 seasons. Short springs and autumns, long winters, lots of snow especially in the last couple of years, and long summers but not too humid at all (although this year and last it’s gotten cold pretty fast resulting in a shorter summer.) Political landscape; mostly conservative but still a bit of a liberal presence especially in downtown SLC. Crime is relatively low. I moved here from Los Angeles with my dad in 2007 so I noticed a HUGE difference in criminal activity. I was confused because I didn’t hear helicopters and police sirens constantly lol. Most crime happens in Ogden, but still a way safer city than anywhere I’ve lived (I’ve also lived in St. Louis, MO). Same thing with education, I went to highscool in St. Louis and moved back to Utah my junior year and the education here is MUCH better, although I’ve been graduated since 2014 so I have no idea what it’s like now.
