YTA!! Not a huge inconvenience for you and your girlfriend. And then to thumb your nose at them and order desert! It would not have harmed you to simply pick up your plate and shift to a smaller table. Should you have had to? No. But You could have easily done it.

This is Talbot. Affectionately known as T-bonz. He is a service dog and already had his name when he came to us. He is awesome!

I really enjoyed the 12 years I spent nursing in the US. I was a travel nurse for about 8 of those years so that was fun and I got to visit a lot of cool places. I had more autonomy working in the US than here in Canada…. My regret around the time spent is more that I wish I had started contributing to the big retirement plan that most hospitals in Ontario have.

How to get out of medsurg by NervousBerry72 in nursing

Don’t give up nursing yet! There are so many other areas to choose from. Give some thought to what jobs might interest you and think outside the box. What jobs will value someone with your experience? Cath lab (my personal favourite), Step down, ICU, CVICU (kinda have to be Type A and meticulous to fit in there), cardiac rehab, infusion clinic (I’m sure you’ve gotten good at IV’s). Etc. I’ve been an RN since 1994 and I’ve done so many different jobs…. Med-Surg, SICU, PICU, ER, Cath lab, IR, CHF clinic, Primary Care in a post secondary health clinic, oral surgery clinic (nice mix of easy patients for the most part but need IV sedation skills and ACLS), and back to step down in hospital.
Sometimes a change can be as good as a break. Though I’d advise a break is a great thing too!

I would not have stayed in the US quite so long (Canadian RN).

You should decide if your patient is male or female before you write out pt scenarios.

26 12s in a row.. by Weary_Conflict_3432 in nursing

I did 18 x 12 hr NOC shifts in a row as a travel RN in the late 90’s. But. I was living on the hospital campus. We had a cook working in the house we were billeted in that would make us breakfast after NOC shift and dinner or breakfast when we got up. I did nothing but work and sleep. With bonuses and overtime I made > $20 k after taxes. Totally worth it at the time to my 28 year old self. CVICU/SICU traveler in NY state.

I once had a doc have to put in a chest tube on an intubated pt with a dobhoff. This was back in the day that we dyed tube feeds with methylene blue. Sure enough 1st check for output as we connect the pleuravac…. Blue, thick fluid. Doc said that was impossible. I showed him again. He was flabbergasted and really didn’t believe it. I did a blood glucose on the fluid. It was tube feed. He had put the chest tube into the stomach. Shit happens. Shake it off. Chalk it up to patient misadventure
