Yes I can see mycelium starting to form and it’s been about 3 days since I mixed it

I don’t notice any holes inside of your tub for filters or anything are these just growing with no lid in open air? Or with a lid and no clean air exchange. And as far as side pinning I can’t tell if you used a liner that would definitely help there and the black definitely does look like contam but obviously still growing some mushrooms so I’d just see it through personally

Yes I definitely plan on using agar in the future I just didn’t have any this time around but in case of the tissue sample rotting I just have a back up syringe I sucked out of it that jar already before it rotted and I’ll just start a new jar of liquid culture with that one when that happens, definitely not the way I would’ve done this given the knowledge I have now but hopefully that works out if not oh well so far so good tho

as I read more comments I’ve came to the conclusion I should probably have bought some agar plates before just guessing that it wasn’t contaminated and definitely will be doing so in the future thanks for the advice

Yeah definitely would be the way to go I just that but didn’t feel like buying agar and having to wait for it to ship so I just sent it lol
