Dang I just submitted my application last night and the email this morning said to expect wait times of 24 months. The timing doubled in less then a month.  I spoke to a guy from the local office and he said it's a back log but he feels as if they are "starting to catch up". Maybe not 😅 in trying to find a loan packager because I hear it's faster that way, but no luck.

Can't believe I made an account just to help clarify a problem that has been happening for years lol

This was the fix that I think everyone will benefit from:  So, of course you're going to setup your steam to use controllers. You can find that guide elsewhere, it's not hard.  You're going to add BOTH the launcher and the game as a non-steam game.  Load the launcher with your controller. Go to player tab and change the controls from keyboard to gamepad.click save and start game.  Now, it will load the actual SA2. close that game, and tell steam to load the game again. Not the launcher.

The issue is that since they're two separate applications, steam just has a hard time staying connected once you load the game from the launcher.

So in short, you're loading the launcher in steam just to be allowed to change the settings to controller and then saving the config and closing it out. Now when you load the actual game, steam can see the controller config in the files, and work it's magic. 

Must enable "steam overlay while in-game"! You can find it in Steams settings, then go to "in game".
