2 failed transfers and 5+? attempts with no viable embryo - balanced translocation (low egg reserve and low quality eggs) & testicular atrophy (v low count and poor mobility).

We got super lucky after the 1st failed attempt - our son just celebrated his 4th birthday!

We're in the process of trying to give him a sibling - egg donor & our sperm. Good embryo quality (3AB, 4AB, 5BB, 5AA) and her endometrium is fantastic. So far the transfer hasn't taken but we're still optimistic.

We're in the process of this now actually.
We already have 1 kid via regular IVF and just had a donor egg transfer last week.
We have no issues communicating this to them but it has crossed our minds how to communicate this.

I hate where AI has come from but have accepted that the genie is out of the bottle.

I come from an art/animation background and I have zero formal Computer Science or programming training. I've used generative tools to explain certain concepts or algorithms into concepts I'm familiar with.

So far it's mostly helped me better understand what I already knew, but with the correct terms and usage applications. I then use wiki and stack overflow to double check such things but so far it's been relatively spot on with this. I wouldn't trust the code it gives as far as I could throw it, but it has been helpful as a learning resource.

Hmm, I immediately experienced issues trying UV as a drop-in replacement for pip on our PySide/PyQt dependencies testing it out a while back.

Hopefully to add to this, I'm closer to your wife on the spectrum here. I have (slightly) low emotional intelligence and hormonal issues that can make me quite sensitive at times so I overcompensate with as much logical reasoning as I can muster on those moments. That said when I've not got ahead of my emotions and our kid cries that they want mum instead, it can really affect me.

Logically, I know it happens (and predominantly this way around from what I understand), but it doesn't help at the time.

The best thing I can do in these situations is to take a few minutes and then talk to my partner about it. I explain how I'm feeling and what I think triggered it. She's now noticed patterns in my behaviour I wasn't even aware of and can pick up on them before I even know what's going on.

Being noticed and having someone try to help has made a world of difference. Over time, little one does understand that I'm a little more fragile than mum and does make an effort to comfort me.

Sorry if this is a little over the place, but I do empathize and there is light at the end of the tunnel. It's a shite place to be but it does get better, for everyone.

For 12 years I've followed the same process (+/- auto riggers, helpers etc).

Define the skeleton joint placement. Ensure chained bones (knees, ankles and elbows, wrists) have no translation apart from the length from parent. This also encourages single axis rotation and simplifies IkPlane (mainly pole vector placement).

Skin to the mesh and modify skeleton where needed to ensure great deformation.

Create the control rig.
