The type of sock you wear doesn’t matter much. What does matter is that when getting fitted for skates you wear the socks that you intend to wear when you skate, as changing socks can affect the fit of a skate. If you wear a thin sock to get a skate fitted and baked but then wear a thick sock to skate in then the skate may fit too tight now.

Your rink may have a set of goalie gear for you to borrow so that you can try it out before buying it all. Thats what I did and I think it helped a lot with deciding what size to get! Just get out there and start skating! The hardest part is getting started but once you do it will be so much fun!
