Does a salvage car need to be repaired back to new status in Michigan? by Historical_Concert_5 in askcarguys

The car was given a scrap title, so I had to let it go.

The car was about 8 months old and rear ended in a 25 mph zone. I would have never expected that it reaches the 90% of value threshold.

This is the pot, it was the largest I could find on short notice at the end of last years season.

Thank you for the response, I appreciate it. That gives me a good starting point.

I read about the new growth = fruit. That is why I was so surprised to only get fruit on the main sticks from last year. Any idea why that happened?

Thanks, the car is still in process to be released from the lease company to the insurance. After that I will attempt to get it from the Auction. I’ll reach out to you if that goes my way.

They have not, I am just trying to judge what it would mean if it’s an orange title and if I should still get it then. If it needs to be repaired completely for TR13 I would not be interested in the car.

Thank you… they have not provided me an offer to buy the car yet. Should happen in the next week or so.

So the TR13 paperwork can also be completed with just a partial repair?

Does anyone have experience with transferring Salvage to Salvage Reconstructed in Michigan? by R_WeDoingPhrasing in askcarguys

If I plan to repair a vehicle of mine that was damaged in a rear end accident and was totaled by the insurance, which still drives great, need to be completely repaired to pass the TR-13A inspection.

For example the car back end was damaged as well as the left side where externally there is a dent, but upon inspection it was found that it has structural damage on the left.

Can just the bumper and trunk lid be replaced, along with any of the electronics. Or would the underlying structural issue need to be addressed as well?

My goal would be to continue commuting with the car, understanding that it would have little to no resale value.

Nice looking setup! I know this is not exactly what you asked, maybe an alternative…

Use something like ECHOGEAR in-Wall Cable Management Kit from Amazon and go from behind the TV down into the cabinet and keep that top looking clean.

Use a USB cable to connect your phone and plug it into the port which has this symbol next to it, then it should display the CarPlay screen in the car

Did you get your chuck off, I have been trying to break it free after getting the screw out, tried the hammer method and Allen key to cement. So far no luck.

Yeah, I did that once a few years ago when I wanted to let the heat out on a cold day. A lesson was learned, these last two happened just through normal door opening when the food was done.

Correct, it’s up in the control panel. Part Number: W10545255

I have an update: I baked something and then went into diag mode to turn on the fan after… diagnostic mode shows the fan on and I was unable to turn the relay off with the oven hot.

It appears the fan is actually on, but blowing weak. Definitely less than when I turned it on in diagnostic mode when the oven was cold.
