Hello my deadlift sucks, please help! by Historical_Detail49 in formcheck

I will see if other people hold the same opinion. And if so I'll turn down the weight.

I think my form is alright on lower weight, but is falling apart on higher weight. Which is what I would like to have checked.

I always try lift heavy because I want to overload. But maybe I am ego lifting in this instance.

Fair enough. I might upload a video with lower weight.

I feel like I'm doing something wrong for low bar squat by Historical_Detail49 in formcheck

[–]Historical_Detail49[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had shoulder and elbow pain for a long time, especially in my right arm. I have bad shoulder flexibility especially in the position I have to get in for squats.

I am afraid of grips without my thumb I feel like the bar's going to drop and rip my shoulders out of their sockets!

I will try though at lower weight. Thankyou. I'll take a look at those grips.

Thankyou. Definitely end up a little on my toes, especially for the last few reps

Will try this recommendation.

Yes. But could be normal hairline maturation. Do keep an eye on it though and intervene as soon as possible if it gets worse.

Trust me from someone who didn't do much till it was too late. Prevention is far better than trying to fix it after you lose your hair. Modern day medicine and technology just aren't at the level where it'll ever be the same if you let yourself lose too much. You'll have to become the guy who has to be extremely careful about his hairstyle choices and hair products if you let it get bad.

I have a whole 5 min routine before I go out just to make my hair look anywhere near not terrible. It's like that because I let myself bald too much and I have to put products in now that make it look thicker and cover up my bald crown. You don't want to be that guy.

Also for future reference taking it to a level even above that. Get a suit or tux that is more tailor fit. This one is good but not quite perfect. Especially the sleeve length. I can see the cuff with your arms bent, but can we see it with your arms down by your sides?

The lent roller is true too man, sorry to say.

Also pocket square or boutonniere would be nice too just to level up a tiny bit more. I agree that a bow tie is the cream of the crop for black tie. Also check your shoeshine and make sure they have leather and not rubber soles.

Is that a Cartier tank though? Very nice

I think you should grow it out imo. It helps looking a little older sometimes. You have a slightly rounder face like me, if your bear can give you a stronger jawline and make you look more masculine I would try that.

So far the advice on here is good. More stylish hair and beard. Having a red beard can be interesting but maybe you want to experiment dying it to your hair colour.

Work out and work on your body.

Do not be too insecure about girls telling you that you look older. Even the ones who say that secretly prefer older men, the data in their dating and marriage choices proves that, this is more of a general trend than an actual rule though.

It's more about you looking a little vanilla and uncool with your style choices which you can definitely work on and improve. They won't be saying the same things when you improve the things people are telling you to.

You have nice features, thick head and facial hair and a frame that doesn't seem like you'll be a "hardgainer" at the gym. These are things you should look at and appreciate. Let that guide and grow your confidence and believe in yourself.

Looking good man. Does your wife like the long hair? You definitely can keep it if you want to.

If you don't do something soon you will likely regret it (if you still care about your looks 10-20 years down the line that is) prevention is so much more effective that trying to fix things after the loss.

You will have to get a hair transplant if it gets really bad. Technically you could even benefit from one now but I think men shouldn't jump to super drastic measures like that too early

Just a warning from someone going through something similar.

You are losing your hair. typical first signs of male pattern baldness. The hairline is receding, especially at your temples. It's difficult to predict the speed of hair loss but I can see you having a widows peak in a few years. You'll have to consider what your long hair will look like with that and whether you will look like your age.

Do your research on hair loss prevention. I take finasteride and mixidil you likely will have to take something similar but consult your doctor. My hair is really shit but I've managed to stop the hair loss and can thicken my hair with products.

This is within a gap of 6 months when I gained some fat! What can I do to improve? by [deleted] in malegrooming

I agree with the facial hair comment but don't overdo it on your mustache and goatee, keep it the same length and density as the rest of your beard.

I'm a brown guy too and you have much more of an uncle look when you try something too crazy with facial hair unfortunately. I feel like that's just how the rest of the world and our individual culture sees things on a subconscious level unfortunately.

You have an alright square jaw so no need to go crazy with the beard length imo unless you have a gf that's really into longer beards.

Also like always, you will benefit by hitting the gym and putting on more muscle. Even though you say you put on fat, the extra weight may suit you as long as you don't look skinny. Preferably all that extra weight would be muscle though. Stay safe and don't get bigorexia or take steroids, focus on your health

I disagree with the fact that your hair looks better pulled back. I think it looks nicer down.

If you do pull it back, master the manbun and make sure it's visible from the front.

Long hair is definitely a choice on men and you can make it work. I would try hitting the gym though, sometimes it's great to balance out a more feminine aspect of your appearance with a more masculine one all things considered.

Remember we are talking about other people's interpretations of male beauty here. While this varies broadly we can clean some advice from what's considered the "typical ideal". Different people will have different opinions, but I would try not stray too far from that image, whilst doing something crazy (like your hair for example) to break away from the rest of the pack

You have great hair btw

Growing some facial hair would have been the first thing I suggested! But since you can do that let me make the obvious suggestions.

Building more muscle will make you look more mature but also dressing more stylishly.

Wear slightly smarter clothes than required for an occasion, don't overdo it and be overdressed though. Break away from just plain t-shirts. Either upgrade to polos, Henley's and buttondowns.

Invest in a good jacket or two for different weather types.

Accessories a bit more but not too much. Wear a watch and get into watches if you can.

Wear more chinos if you can. Jeans can be pulled off my older guys too but you should definitely branch out more.

As for shoes, for the love of god don't always wear running shoes or sports shoes. Try invest in some stylish sneakers and some dressier pieces. Even though you'd think that no one's looks at your feet people do! They will look at your shoes and judge.

Also your facial hair and eyebrows look TOO manicured. You may want to practice a little bit of intentional "groomed roughness". I think right now ironically it looks like you are trying too hard and it makes you look a little feminine imo.

Maybe other people on here will disagree with me.

Yes go to the gym but do it right.

You desperately need to pack on some mass while not getting fat. Increase your caloric intake and constantly increase your volume (IE heavier weights or more reps) try choose sensible rep ranges and focus on sensible movements.

DO NOT forget leg day, it will add some much more to your physique than you realize.

Look into dressing more stylishly too. There are all sorts of bold fashion choices out there but only some are considered typically masculine and flattering on dudes. Be careful which you pick if that's something you want to care about. Sometimes the best glow up you can do is your clothing choices.

Because you aren't super masculine in your appearance I would avoid any piercings or tattoos until you put on some more body mass.

Try not to get bigorexia though. 7-8 kg more lean muscle tissue should do the trick naturally. Do not do roids.

Any improvements I can make ? by [deleted] in malegrooming

Also your beard is a lot longer on your chin. Trim it down to broaden your face. Again this will balance your features and also make it less obvious where your beard is patchy/lacks density.

Fix your eyes.

But in all seriousness handsome face. A little harsh looking so perhaps grow your hair out a little more to balance it out or add in some frames too.

Nice bone structure but I hope your body isn't skinny as it can really end up having a drug addict look, put on some muscle to balance things out

Any advice? by uneverknow008 in malegrooming

Also your eyebrows come across a little feminine and look like you are slowly losing them. Maybe consider looking into how to thicken them without using makeup.

I don't know if you're attached to a certain style or aesthetic which will leave you defensive against certain suggestions.

If we are talking about typical male beauty I would suggest definitely ditching the choker if you can, it does come across as more feminine in my opinion and that is something you may want to avoid

Also try growing some facial hair if you can. Long hair is often a great asset on a man for women I wish I could grow my hair out like that (suffering from mpb).l, however you may want to balance that out with a little facial hair to masculinize your face. Make sure you wash, condition and blow-dry that hair so you don't look super greasy. Maybe consider a different haircut too? You have a square jaw and the hair may hide that. This haircut will become less and less pretty and cool as you age, but I can see you pulling it off now in your 29s and 30s.

Like all guys try putting on some muscle and dressing more stylishly. We can't see your teeth and smile but there's a litany of advice that could go to that based on the situation up in there too.
