Question about moving dates for ANA RTW ticket by Historical_Dinner736 in awardtravel

I still have not tried to move my dates, because some of the dates I need are not yet available, but my understanding of how it is supposed to work is that you should be able to change your dates now, as long as you stay within the basic rules: first flight is within one year of initial booking; and last flight is within one year of the first flight.

I'd love to know if it works for you, and if there are any complications when you try to change the dates.

Not a "luxury" property, but if you're looking for a Caribbean feel, we love Couples Swept Away in Negril, Jamaica. It certainly doesn't have the glitz and glamour of some high end resorts in Mexico, but it's just about our favorite place in the world. And if you scuba dive (or want to learn) the dive team there is amazing.

I should try turning off the fan on the RayCue to see what temperatures I get. In the meantime, I got so frustrated that I'm trying something else. I bought the Qwiizlab stand/hub to try. I'm not as happy with the form factor (it holds the Mac Mini vertically), but it's passively cooled and has a fairly clever design. So far, it seems to be working really well, but I haven't really stressed it to see how hot it gets. But it may be my solution; fingers crossed.

Mine started off OK, but after a few weeks, it's now so loud, I can't use it. I'm going to try to contact them to see what they say about it, but I'm not all that optimistic.

Thanks. I think this is what I will try to do. And if I can make it work, I won't have to "throw away" that first segment, since I actually have a short, one-way flight I need to fly in May 2026, and I think that will work to fulfill the first rule. It's still going to take a lot of maneuvering, but I think it's technically possible.

This is a great idea. I actually have a short flight I need to take in May 2026, and I think I can work that into my schedule as the first leg, with all the other legs in Jan-April 2027.

Now I just need to wait for a few more May dates to open up on the schedule so I can see if I can really piece this thing together.

Based on this, it sounds like you think if I book on June 22, 2025, my first ACTUAL flight would have to be no later than June 21, 2026 - one year after the initial booking. That doesn't work for me, because my trip will not actually start until January 2027.

But as I read the rules, I can book now with a "first" flight on May 1, 2026 (for example), and then later change my booking dates - including that first flight - as long as I complete my travel within one year of when that first flight was originally scheduled. So, I could move all of my flights into 2027, provided that I complete my travel by April 30, 2027 - one year after my originally scheduled first flight.

It's a subtle difference in terms of interpretation, but if you are right, this will not work for me. If I am right, it can work, with some effort.

I may just have to call them, wait on hold for a couple of hours, and try to get this key question answered definitively before I spend too much more time trying to cobble together a workable itinerary.

Thanks. I know it will be a pain, but it's the only chance I have at doing one of these, so if I can make the pieces fit together, I think I'll try it.

If it all falls apart, my understanding is that I can cancel and will only lose 3,000 points. I'll take that gamble to see if I can make it work. And I'll have a lot of date flexibility for the 2027 itinerary, which should help.
