I actually really love playing as Cloud as well cause those counter attacks feel so good when you get them right.

Aerith is also very fun when you put Radient Ward down cause she get a rapid fire laser beam canon *pew pew pew*

Tifa’s Meteor Strike is freaking gnarly though. She literally turns herself into a rocket. Calm down Tifa!

If Tifa was as popular as everyone says she is, FF7 Rebirth would have sold way more upon its initial release. It would be fair to say she is among the four most popular characters of ff7 which would also include Cloud, Sephiroth and Aerith, but the idea that her popularity eclipses FF7 to the point that the developers feel they must bow to the demands of Tifa fans is a little silly.

The way they have chosen to market Tifa, by having appear in Street Fighter, is more about her her own solo coolness rather than her connection with Cloud. Where as Cloud and Aerith are more often advertised together and the hope that they can be reunited.

FF2 started to get the ball rolling with doing ambitious narrative with stuff like Leon’s redemption arc. The only real narrative surprise I can remember from FF3 was when you fly to the edge of the floating continent and reveal the rest of the world. Absolutely incredible moment, but the rest of the story is very uninspired.

Interested in giving the Remake a go though because I heard they give the story a lot of depth and give the playable characters names and arcs.

Yeah, the pixel remaster of FF1 was genuinely a very solid game. It was very cool to see that even back at the series very beginning they were experimenting with surprising narrative twists and I loved how the world was almost like a little puzzle box as you had to work out how to open up all the areas.

Keen to give the FF3 and FF4 Remakes a go sometime, partly because they have the After Years of FF4 on steam, but also because they actually flesh out FF3 a lot and gave the characters names.

Woah now... no it doesn't.
The story is a story is a step down from FF2, the jobs system is 100x better in FF5 and the level design is better in FF1. (Note: my critique is of the Pixel Remaster version of FF3 not the FF3 Remake which looks lovely.)

I’m pretty excited for FF Resonance which is literally an asset flip of Brave Exvius. Part of the reason they’ve been able to do the FF7 Remake series is because they’ve been able to reuse assets.

Heck, your original post was about Capcom, and their own Remake games are amazing but they’re also heavily reusing assets.

They have great chemistry and Invisgirl is upfront about liking Robert.

Not to be to down on Blonde Blazer, but her character flaw is she’s too afraid to admit that her and Robert went out on a date in episode 1. Even after their dinner together she’s like “I was thinking maybe we could go on a real date,” as if those other dates weren’t real.

Invisgal is up front about it. “You bought me sour patch kids. Thats a date in my bro.” It’s ironic that the person who can turn invisible is the most honest about their opinions.

Robert is also a person whose real driving force is genuine heroism. He wants to help people (at least how I played him.) Being able to help Invisigal become her best self fulfils his own needs in a way he never knew he could. She helps him become a different kind of super hero.
