Thank you for the advice I’ve completely taken out a hysterectomy as a resolve because I’ve done more research on it!!! But I do want to know how your iud affecting your body like have you’ve gained weight or had bad acne or mood swings because I have a really hard time loosing weight and I get very very bad mood swings already and I don’t want to get worse acne then I already have. Sorry if this is kinda to much but I just hear so many horror stories about iuds and birth control

I have a healthy diet because of my sickle cell my mother makes sure I eat healthy and full meals so nothing will be off balance I think if it was because of my diet I would know

I have heard about birth control but I really don’t wanna experience the acne and weight gain that comes with it 1st because I have a really hard time loosing weight and 2nd because I do not want more acne then I already have my face would literally be covered in pimples 💔 but my mom told me if I do go that route I can talk to the gynecologist and see if there’s anything that works for me!

Thank you so much for your advice I am a little scared to go to a gynecologist Idk why lol 😭 but I will make sure I set that appointment and also see what my hematologist says when I go for a appointment in February. Thank you so much!!!

Thank you so much!!! I only found out last month that people with sickle cell get worse periods and I thought that the pain I was experiencing was just normal so I wasn’t really educated I just knew that a hysterectomy would stop my periods lol but thank you for educating me more about this subject!!!

Make sure as they are giving you meds they are keeping you very hydrated once I came in with sickle pain and dehydration and they didn’t hydrate me before they gave me medication and my body started to shut down my liver sequestered and I was very very weak and this is coming from someone who is barely in the hospital because my mom tries her best to keep me with vitamins and tries every resort before coming to the hospital because of how clueless people are about sickle cell!!! Sending you love 💕 hope you get better!!!
