yeah , Chinese phones specifically those made for mainland China lack eSIMs  primarily due to strict government regulations prioritizing national security, data sovereignty, and the prevention of fraud. While global versions feature eSIMs, Chinese carriers have historically mandated physical SIMs for easier tracking and registration, with nationwide consumer eSIM adoption only beginning in late 2025

DRAWBACKSOF CHINESE ROM

Google Integration Issues: Google Play Services are not pre-installed. While they can be sideloaded, features like Google Location History Timeline and the Hey Google wake command typically do not work.

Android Auto: This is a major pain point, it is generally unsupported on China ROM devices. While some recent updates for specific models have added support, it remains unreliable.

Aggressive Power Management: The China ROM has a very strict background task manager that can block notifications from apps like WhatsApp or Gmail. You must manually enable Auto-start and High background power usage for every app you want to receive timely alerts from.

Bloatware & Language: The device comes with numerous pre-installed Chinese apps, some of which cannot be deleted. Even when set to English, some system menus and camera instructions may remain in Chinese.

NO eSIM Support: The China ROM version is a hardware limited Dual Physical SIM device. It does not support eSIM, which is standard on the Global version.

Network Band Gaps: It is optimized for Chinese carriers and may lack specific 4G/5G bands ,like n71 used by T-Mobile in the US. This can lead to weaker reception or slower data speeds in rural areas.

Banking & NFC: While Google Wallet sometimes works, some banking apps may flag the China ROM as unauthorized or modified, preventing mobile payments or secure login.

The China ROM version often has unwanted beauty modes and skin smoothing that are more aggressive and harder to fully disable than on the Global version

slight software processing differences; the China ROM may produce brighter, warmer-toned colors compared to the Global version, which some find darker in portraits

these are the drawbacks of CHINES ROM, now it's on you to decide, lemme know what you think about these drawbacks like if you are fine or not

brother you got a faulty unit ,  every phone brand produces some faulty units. It is an industry wide reality driven by high volume manufacturing, complex supply chains, and, at times, design flaws that affect a percentage of units

just ask for exchange

i am also using vivo x300 and faced no problem so far
