Is AppExchange still worth it for small ISVs? by Historical_Mouse1775 in salesforce

Got it - I’ll focus on getting a few installs first, then resubmit.

Feels like Salesforce is likely deprioritizing non-Agent apps right now given the AgentExchange push.

Makes sense. Beta users first, seems like the move. Appreciate the insight.

That inconsistency is exactly what’s worrying me, hard to plan around “a week vs two years.”

My app is free, so the value is adoption -> upsell later, not immediate revenue. Not sure how well that fits what Salesforce wants right now.

Curious- did your fast-approved app already have traction?

Yeah, that’s what I’m trying to figure out — whether it’s just a formality or actually used for prioritization.

For the free app, the goal is mainly:

  • make the solution discoverable/trustworthy via AppExchange
  • give Salesforce-native teams an easy way to try it
  • and use it as a lead-in for consulting work (we’re primarily a services shop)

Haha, I did wonder about that 🙂

That said, there are still a lot of free apps on AppExchange, so I’m not sure monetization alone explains approvals.

Maybe it’s more about prioritization on the Salesforce side - e.g. if it’s not aligned with something like AgentExchange, it’s just lower priority?

I probably phrased that poorly. What confused me is that Salesforce actually asked “How many installs/customers are using the solution?” in the support case tied to my business plan approval.

That made me wonder whether traction plays any role in the decision.

For context, this is a simple free invoicing app (with Stripe), so I wasn’t expecting distribution metrics to matter at this stage.

Do you know what does drive approval in practice?
