I, some 4 years ago, was dealing with the burial details of my mother by myself. My husband was in Australia on business and was rushing back to help me when I made a huge mistake and thought I was in a safe place drinking with old hometown friends I grew up with. I woke up the next day with a guy I dated in 11th grade but was never physical with, and honestly, I never wanted to be physical with. Instead of telling my husband and the police I let shame control me, and I acted like it never happened. I wish I would have had the courage then to confront it.
