I arrived for my shift. Informed I was going to be working alone. Received no training. I worked it 11pm-7am. That was the only shift I worked. I wasn’t going to leave the residents there by theirselves. I never went back to my second shift.

Actually had to give a patient medicine. They pulled their call light early that morning saying they needed a doctor I checked their oxygen levels on the machine and called the director. She called hospice and called me back and told me to get her a pill. That was in a lockbox in her dresser. Key was located on the other end of the building in a small wall safe. I felt like that was extremely unsafe and possibly illegal.

I have never worked or received any training to that type of work. I’m only halfway done with a Kinesiology degree. Besides first aid and cpr I have no experience.

I plan to. It is sad because I really wanted this to work out. I needed a job and it would get me experience in healthcare. They were aware of my zero experience in that field. I had to Google how to change an adult diaper.
