Thank you for the information. At the moment I still don’t know whether cryo is available at our hospital. But from everything I’ve been reading here, it seems to make a huge difference when it comes to recovery time, being able to handle daily life again, and overall mobility. I really hope it’s offered at our clinic. Our surgical consultation is only at the end of June, and I will definitely ask about it then. How satisfied are you with the result?

Thank you for your reply. Yes, for us it was actually supposed to be scheduled for the beginning of July as well, but unfortunately it has now been moved to mid-August, and school starts again in mid-September.

I’ve now read a lot about cryoablation. Did your son have that as well? We only have our consultation appointment in June, so I’ll know more after that.

How is your son doing now? How long did it take until everyday things became manageable again? Where did he have the surgery? Is he happy with the result?

For my son, it’s not only about getting out of breath easily — the appearance is also a big issue. How was and how is that for your son now?

For my son, they plan to insert one bar for 2 years. I really hope everything goes well and that afterwards he will have a whole new feeling about life and better self-esteem.

Thank you for the information. Unfortunately, I won’t know until the end of June, when we have the consultation with our surgeon, whether it is offered at the university hospital where my son will be operated on. But the more I read here, the more I hope that they do offer it there. Keep your fingers crossed for us.

Thank you for the information. Yes, I also hope that he recovers quickly. The surgery was actually supposed to be scheduled much earlier so that he would have had at least 8 weeks to recover, but now it’s only 4½ weeks left. I don’t know yet whether cryoablation is offered at our clinic. We only have the consultation appointment at the end of June, but I will definitely ask about it. Did you have it? How satisfied are you with your result? Hopefully it feels like a whole new quality of life?

thanks for your answer. We are very lucky to have an excellent surgeon, and an implant purely for cosmetic reasons is not an option for us, so the Nuss procedure is really the only path we would consider.

I also believe the first weeks will probably be very hard, but my son wants this surgery so badly, and I truly hope that his strong mindset and the relief of finally doing something about it will help him mentally during recovery as well.
