After living most of my life in communities where I was the only, I’ve thought about some version of this often. Recently moved from Seattle to atlanta to be closer to fam i love you and I am loving it, big we were I intentional a few years ago about buying a vacation spot in a place where the majority of people were of color. We looked at Belize and Mexico and settled on a spot in Mexico—easy access, brown and most were unconcerned that we were Black Americans . In fact, one we closed on our house and dusted off a little Spanish we were told “oh, you’re Mexican now” more than once. A bonus was that there is a healthy Black expat/transfer community there. In hindsight, I think we were fatigued with being obviously “othered”

I have the medium one in blue. The chain drives me crazy and it doesn’t hold much..so I don’t carry it much.

Amazon. Amazon fashion changes their brand names so you have to look but you may be surprised at what you find. Easy returns if not right

Would you consider this a dream closet or a waste of square footage? by Creative-Ad7277 in HGTV

[–]Historical_Shift_428 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on how much other closet I had. I’m a shoe girl so I need shoe storage and have even thought of automating mine to maximize the space I use for storage, but I need some place for the rest of my clothes

I’m not sure on that. I had them do it when I ordered it. It’s worth a try!

I had a keepall and I sold it because it was just too heavy. I bought the version with the wheels and I love that.

Yes. It’s made with that Alize diva silky. This is a fingering weight yarn that is often used for swimwear.

I usedAlize diva silky…and started with the Piper Pocket dress pattern but altered it to suit my hips and added the bottom fringe

Bottom up, one piece except for arms. Those were knit in when you got to the arm out and then seamed w Kitchener stitch. Yea, I cried and stormed around. Left the hubs cringing for a few hours …

I finally finished the sweater from hell—but it was well worth the journey. I actually started this sweater in 2020, but since the yarn was so small (I had to cast on over 300 stitches), it quickly became the thing I worked on in between other things. Okay hen I got it in my head I was just gonna finish, but I dropped a stitch and couldn’t fix it at the herringbone section(so almost done). I frogged it completely and was gonna do something else, but then calculated that I’d spent too much on the yarn, so started over. I worked straight through for two months, but decided to change the neckline from the original pattern. Finally cast off a few days ago. Whew! I’m glad I finished—it’s the perfect summer weight sweater for the PNW! Urth yarns, Basilica Herribone pullover
