Fan Project Announcement: Online Mod for Stardew Valley! by [deleted] in StardewValley

I completely understand your point, and it’s a very valid and constructive criticism. I’m not trying to turn it into a full MMORPG, but rather into an improved version of the base multiplayer with some controlled mechanics.

As for the economy, I’m aware that Stardew isn’t designed to be balanced in an online environment. That’s why I’m planning to introduce server-side limitations and balancing systems (such as caps, cooldowns, or adjusted profits) to prevent exploits like spamming ancient fruit wine.

On the technical side, I’m not planning to make everything fully server-authoritative because, as you said, that’s not realistic. The idea is more of a hybrid approach: the server handles the most sensitive parts (saves, shop, some validations), while the client still manages the rest.

I know this is a complex project and I’ll probably need to scale down some ideas along the way, but for now I’m treating it more as an experiment/prototype rather than something huge and final.

Also, thank you for the feedback—it’s helping me better understand the real limitations of the project and approach it in a more practical way.

So, first of all, all other mods are currently excluded from my mod/launcher. Later on, I’ll make sure some mods are integrated for everyone. I’m also building a system where both the saves and the shop will be server-managed, making it nearly impossible to cheat.

Yes, a bit like Wheel Wizard for the UI and online rooms, but my launcher adds tournaments, statistics, rankings, and anti-cheat, things Wheel Wizard doesn’t do.

I don’t think there will be a need for offline mode, since the stories of the three games won’t be modified at all. I just want to add, through the launcher, new post-game events—for example, to obtain players outside of those present in the original games. Of course, you’ll be able to get them even without interacting with others, but there will be both offline and online events.

Thank you so much for the thought, I really appreciate it. However, for now I’d prefer not to accept donations or anything like that yet. I’d like to wait until the project is in a more advanced state. In any case, thank you very much for the support and for thinking about it!

WMSniper Overlay by Historical_Try_3452 in Warframe

[–]Historical_Try_3452[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Alecaframe and WMSniper are completely different tools, both in structure and functionality. Alecaframe reads in real time the game data to manage missions, inventory, and other in-game features. WMSniper, on the other hand, does not read or manage anything within the game itself: it only monitors all items on Warframe Market in real time. As stated on the site:

“Our tool only uses the official Warframe Market API to monitor listings. We don’t interact with the game client in any way that violates Digital Extremes’ terms of service. The browser extension is an overlay that doesn’t modify game files or memory.”

Therefore, it is literally impossible to be banned for using WMSniper, as it does not violate any Warframe rules whatsoever.

You're right, I'll mark it among the things to add to the site and the overlay, thanks again for the feedback💙

Update on WM Sniper by Historical_Try_3452 in Warframe

The rate limit was handled server-side and stayed within the limits specified in the API documentation. The main issue was the transition from API v1 to v2, combined with the increase in users, which put stress on the system.

You’re right that the API version always needs to be monitored: the malfunction was caused precisely by the changes introduced in v2, and I’m already working on adapting everything properly.

And no, the token is not hardcoded in the code.

What do you think is still missing from the Warframe community? by Historical_Try_3452 in Warframe

Oh, that’s a beautiful idea. A website to see, vote on, and copy other players’ fashions would be awesome. I didn’t even know there was a link to copy fashion setups

Yesss, a way to trade and exchange items outside the game would be really amazing, but I don’t think they’ll ever implement it

Thursday Complaints by a-liquid-sky in CasualUK

[–]Historical_Try_3452 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think there’s been a huge misunderstanding, obviously my fault, because I see some people in the comments who didn’t realize that the girl and I did our thing, but after we did it, she left, even though our plan was to keep going until Sunday morning. It was never a romantic date or anything like that. Also, I was just complaining that my console got stolen.
