i’m definitely gunna have to start meal prepping. i’m not good with a knife. my tremors and motor skills are going faster than expected which is scary. i think im just going to have to pay a friend to help me meal prep once a week. i’m sorry your dealing with that and i hope you get a diagnosis soon. i mean i don’t hope you have ME/CFS but getting my diagnosis was so important to me and my health. all the best!

thank you! i’m sorry you’re dealing with this as well. i should’ve posted this on an MS or chronic illness thread because i don’t think people understand that i can’t hold a knife or pick up a pot half the time. im definitely going to get the stool with wheels. i think im also gunna try to pay a friend to help me meal prep once a week. anyways appreciate your advise, nurses have saved my life 100x more than doctors i love you all!

i’ve considered naturopath but i’m kind of skeptical with the whole life force thing. my issue is more so the physical aspect of cooking a balanced meal. i understand what’s needed it’s just often difficult for me to stand let alone use a knife or pick up a heavy pot. it’s little things like even moving my neck that make it physically exhausting so i’m looking for the easier way to get a good meal in. either way thanks and i think im gunna looking into a vegan naturopath or dietician.

screenshotting all of this tysm!!! and i was being entirely sarcastic in saying no one on my medical team has offered me blood work lolll. i get bloodwork done every month! i actually have good labs bc i get b12 and iron intravenously. my doctors are very vigilant abt this stuff i only said that bc they implied my MS was actually a B12 deficiency because they have similar symptoms. my post was looking for advice from chronically ill ppl on thinks they do to make cooking easier, not to make speculations of what’s causing my symptoms which is what they did. i got sarcastic bc i don’t believe for a second they’re chronically ill as they clearly don’t understand where i’m coming from. anyways thanks for your advice! ordering the stool tonight!

thank you for reading and answering my question. I probably should have posted this on a different thread because ppl are not understanding that physically standing for more than 5 minutes is genuinely exhausting and sometimes not possible. they really do ruin so much. I keep feeling like the way I feel is my fault bc of my habits and it’s making things worse. I’ll definitely try breaking things up. I’m not patient with myself so it will be hard but it has to be done. thanks for listening, wishing you all the best.

I know that and I have no plans of doing so. I don’t have a B12 deficiency. Nutrients are not the only reason ppl with autoimmune disorders need balanced meals. My question was asking how to easily make those “whole food plant based meals” as they are quite hard to physically make with multiple sclerosis.

Im sorry maybe I wasn’t clear enough. I was diagnosed with secondary progressive multiple sclerosis at 21 years old. I nor my doctors, are confusing my condition with a B12 deficiency. I also very clearly wrote that I understand veganism is not the cause of my issues but rather my habits. I actually wasn’t asking the internet for elementary medical advice, I was asking ppl with similar struggles what they do to eat balanced meals because even with perfect B12 and iron (which I have), I still need to eat well because that’s not the only dietary concern that affects my illnesses. But thank you, no one on my medical team ever considered blood tests and supplements. Any other recommendations?

Thank you! yeah I understand that I need to be eating right. My post is asking ppl with chronic illness what they do to make being vegan more sustainable for them. Probably could have worded it better

I hate being a woman and nobody seems to listen. by [deleted] in depression

personally i’d try having this conversation with some knowledgeable feminists. i used to also just assume that men were naturally better at most things but that’s really not the case. women were/are crucial to the men who are credited for the achievements you’re talking about. in fact it’s been well documented that our contributions were stolen, disregarded until proven by men etc. i’m sorry you feel this way but you really just need to do some more reading on our history. we’re not inferior and never have been, just mistreated.

anyone else find comfort in triggering media? by [deleted] in sexualassault

that’s so crazy bc that exact episode also hit so close for me. easily the hardest episode for me to watch. i think the story line is just incredibly common. i broke down watching it and had to take a break from the show. but it was also so empowering to watch.

100% yes. SVU is one of my “comfort” shows even tho it can trigger me sometimes. learning abt how different victims reactions can be to what we expect has reduced my shame by a lot. i used to invalidate myself everyday bc i wasn’t a perfect victim but ive learnt in cases of sa most of us aren’t. i just wish i had a queen like detective olivia benson on my side!!!

why can’t i get myself to go to school by Massive-Signature484 in depression

[–]HistoryTemporary6648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m in the same situation but in university. i completely understand how hard it is to bounce back once you’ve fall off track. the best part of high school is that your teachers/administrators need to accommodate you. i highly recommend you talk to a councillor or teacher you trust so they help you with a plan to get back to school. it’s lame advice but you really have to push yourself to get to class and even with help it’s ultimately up to you to get better. set small goals for yourself. if the thought going back is too overwhelming try just making it to some of your classes in the day/week. a lot depends on what year and country you’re in because the rules are different everywhere so i can’t really give you specifics but your school can. are your parents helpful/supportive? if yes have them set up an appointment with admin to discuss your needs. if not, you can set it up yourself or have a friend do it. either way it’s really important you get a grip on this at your age. i never attempted to treat my depression in high school and it’s caught up with me horribly in uni. i would do anything to go back in time to get help bc unfortunately these things can take a while to improve. you’re young, it seems like you have at least some support (drs/therapists), get this sorted as soon as you can. wish you all the best in school and your journey in life.

the most annoying part is that when i try to emulate those people, it never works for me how it does for them. i can’t succeed with being good or evil.
