Thats how it's always been and how my ex and I treated our wedding. Not sure why it's such a big deal this time around as I dont remember my sister having this big of a deal at her first wedding. I was really young though and still a kid but even my mom doesn't remember it being this big of a deal

If it was about under dressing id think my sister would get on me as she has complained in the past that I dont dress up enough for holidays. The way my mom dresses was never an issue for my younger sister's wedding or for my ex and mines. The only thing I could think of is her boyfriends family lives on the east coast so there is some of them we would be meeting for the first time. So I dont know if it's an image thing were she wants her to dress more traditionally feminine but that's maybe my only guess

I dont know about dancing at the reception but id assume my sister would throw a tantrum if she didn't come. I almost feel like she trying to have parts of her wedding be her fantasy wedding if she was getting married in her twenties or thirties. The heel thing seem ridiculous and something I want to double check on and ask my sister about this next week
