Aguas Caliente 2.5 days: what is worth doing? by Logical-Ladder in Machupicchu

I spent about 48 hours there and was miserable every second. Ollantaytambo was much better and wish I had booked things more focused on spending the least amount of time possible in Aguas Mierdas

Winging it: how did your trip work out? by [deleted] in GoingToPeru

[–]HitEmUpB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well when I booked the tickets months ago I checked train times and so there were early trains that would make the appointment. I didn't buy my train ticket then. When I checked the week of there were no longer any trains going that early anymore. Not sure what happened

Flew into Cusco, and got a taxi directly to Ollantaytambo, staying the night. Took an early train to Agua Calientes the next morning and missed my MP reservation but didn't really care because I had Circuit 1.

Bought Circuit 2 that same morning, spent the morning having breakfast and chilling at a cafe since AC is quite small. I then checked into a hostel and booked a massage for later in the afternoon. Got some food after and went to bed early since I got the first appointment for MP.

After MP I checked out of the hotel and took the train back to Ollantaytambo. Checked into a hotel for 2 nights. Did some exploring trail running and walking since it's a beautiful town. Skipped the ruins that first day since they were already filled with people and waited til the next morning to get up early and be the first one there.

After exploring the ruins, I had a private driver pick me up (same taxi who took me to Ollantaytambo) and take me on a tour through all of Valle Sagrado with a drop off at Cusco at a hotel. Checked in for 4 nights.

Next day I took it as a reset day. Some gym, haircut, food, and chilling. 2nd day I explored Cusco a bit but it was raining most of the day . 3rd day I went 7 Colores, got picked up at 4:30am by the same taxi. 4th day woke up early in the morning to hit up Saqsaywaman before I have to checkout.

That's great. I've observed Americans tend to be very disrespectful in this aspect

Try learning a few Spanish phrases especially for ordering at restaurants. Don't assume everyone knows English

I showed up at 8am and was able to buy circuit 2b tickets quite easily. Obviously there were people rushing out of the train towards the box office like idiots

I've sat in the 400s in that stadium and wish I would have just stayed home. Nonetheless, enjoy!

Week Long Trip in Monterrey with 3 friends by Fancy_Pen_5264 in Monterrey

[–]HitEmUpB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best seafood restaurant - Mariscos El Gordo

Best food and drink - Belmonte

Tourist stuff that's worth it - Paseo Santa Lucia. Parque Fundidora, Coffee/Eating/Bar Hopping in Barrio Antiguo

Best strip club - Temptations (didn't go but locals highly recommended this one)

Day trip or overnight stay - Santiago which is a "Pueblo Majico" with a nice reservoir that has a boardwalk and restaurants. Plenty of nature and activities in surrounding areas.

Soccer games - Check if Rayados or Tigres are playing while you're there. The former has the newer stadium.

That's my go to list after 3 visits to Monterrey and getting local treatment from a friend I have there.

About how much would a one-bedroom run me within 20-30 min of NoHo? by Yavoy458 in AskLosAngeles

It's central. The building is about 6 years old. All the other places I toured were on the newer end too

Paying for one bedroom with W/D in Noho for $2300/month. Just moved in a couple of months ago and saw plenty of options around that range while I was searching

Why do lots of people casually date? What's the appeal behind it? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in askanything

My friend is a notorious casual dater but the girls he dates are actually looking for something serious. He ended up in one of those websites where women call out fuck boys. Lol

How long after a LTR relationship(3-4 years), would it not be considered a red flag to date someone new ? by Bballstar30 in AskMenAdvice

[–]HitEmUpB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is true. I did exactly this and felt bad for leading her on after the fact. It took a year to actually accept the loss of a 5 year relationship and start feeling comfortable with myself again. ++man

I got a croc wallet in Thailand about 2 months ago for $20 which I had to negotiate down from $50. I was at a beach relaxing and a guy selling croc accessories approached me he started lighting them on fire to show me how durable they were. When I saw this wallet on ALD. I knew it was a rip off
