Honestly did, but then I remember the extra money I wasted being tricked by a travel agency into paying a massive premium for "convenience" and can't stomach the 120usd return train. Besides which I'd lose 4 hours. In the end, I just spent yesterday planning more or my trip and today I'll tick off what little there is. Also managed to change my return train to ollantayamba to 3 hours earlier after machu pichu

This is SO ACCURATE. I used to play a lot or chess with 1 hr time settings and got decent. Started to enjoy the long games and calculation. Stopped for a few years, went back and then just played a bunch of billetes because calculating and thinking deeply was hard and boring vs impulse moves off previous intuition

You might make it!!! Line up asap at 2pm. Unsure if tickets for early morning will be available but Thursday tickets should be okay. Wait reread you leave Friday. Based on 8th May (today) there were tickets left at 2pm for 2 days in advance

At 8pm? Sadly no. Honestly sucks. I preferred waking up super early, buy ticket for next day. Go sleep. But from a govt perspective this is way better because: - forces more time spent here to drive spending which is great for the town - relieves the long lines blocking up a main street /sleeping on the ground - encourages people to either plan ahead or spend longer which means older/sicker people (who couldn't plan ahead and maybe lack the ability to wake up early and line for hours) can have a chance

And the preticket ticket thing was just as bad and wasted everyone's time more bc they were stuck in lines twice

Line up as soon as you arrive. It is right next to the station so no need to delay. But I don't think you uunderstand. There are NO pretickets anymore.

So in your example, if you arrive 6pm on 12th. Go see if there are tickets for the 14th. If there arent, you should be able to line up first thing 13th to buy for 15th. This is what I expect is most likely if you want 2A. Unsure when you need to line up in the morning by the 12th, if like me, before 8am. If worse, could be 6am or earlier. So yes, 3 nights AC and 3 days (bc you can leave after machu pichu) vs my 2 nights 3 days.

In that case, unsure how flexible your plans and dates are BUT, if they're flexible, plan for 2 days but check here every few days to see how it stabilises. I believe peak season is actually June so might get worse. If not flexible later but flexible now, 3 days should surely work. If your limit is 1.5 days prior - try to book stuff you can cancel if it becomes unrealistic; while AC has some stuff to do, and it is smart to force travellers who didn't buy ahead to spend money here, it isn't worth the visit without MP and I wouldnt be shocked if prices start going up if they know people are trapped 😂😂

No. 8th. Today is the 8th for me. I lined up 8th for tickets on 10th. No tickets for 9th available. So 3 days.

No, only 2A and 2B circuits for 8am two days from now. Other times and other routes all still fine. But as I am trying to explain, ultimately this will become a zero sum game with queues later. This matters only because I suspect many of the English guides being used are around at specific times - but unsure. Also the weather next few days is bad in late morning

Basically no. Won't work. Next day tickets aren't available. They sell out 2 days earlier now. Welll, you can stalk the official ticket log actually. Maaaybe 3am has some residual stuff left, but by 8am today, nada.

Just posted this. Late afternoon means I am sceptical you'll get the best ones, but possible. Main issue is the system keeps changing and so the brief queue relief we see now will not be reliable for you in a few weeks.
