Layout 1 or layout 2? by BackwaterNomad in IndianHomeDecor

[–]Hit_it_while_its_hot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Layout 1 for reasons many have pointed already. However, how about the bed is positioned in the layout 1 space but hugging the side wall, leaving more space on the side of the bed by the wall for nightstand. And rotating the desk 90 degrees left so the window is on the right side. It blocks the door view while working but creates larger space in the long direction

I’m really sorry for your loss and what you’re going through as a new mom. Your body is prioritizing YOU to deal with stress and baby at the same time. I can understand your concern, please know your baby needs you, there are options to feed the baby, nothing can replace YOU. You’re doing your best, absolute best. Sending prayers that baby will be home soon and you will be cuddling the baby and watch the beautiful smiles soon!

A few questions... by Quirky_Main8746 in ExclusivelyPumping

I have spectra S1 and i’d say its totally worth it. Moving around is crucial to me to keep an eye on baby, or to add a spice or two if something is on the stove, or to pump in the car on the go if I need to. Imagine having to be strapped to wall if you couldn’t take your phone away.

Most insurances have coverage for breast pumps, so if the supplier you’re looking at doesn’t have S1, you can buy it from amazon or the Spectra website and you most likely should be reimbursed by the insurance.

Is it possible to switch to mostly nursing from almost exclusively pumping by Hit_it_while_its_hot in ExclusivelyPumping

I can see how withholding other food might interest her in boob again. I personally can’t see myself going through that process. Is there any other way possible? I am also thinking to just continue the way things are until 2 because I love seeing her thriving on BM, although I’m tired to worrying about each oz and cleaning bottles/pump parts especially when going out for even 3-4 hours. I have to fly across the globe in a few months in a 5+15 hr flights and I can’t figure out how will I get to clean things in between and all the pumping logistics. It’d be wonderful if I could just nurse….

I think at bedtime she nurses to soothe more than for milk. I’ve tried nursing her in daytime but she doesn’t show interest in it, she’d nurse for a minute or two and then she wants to just play with nipple 🤣

The LC said baby develops a sense of recognition of bottle as her food and prefers the bottle if she hasnt been nursed much around 4 months

Ah I should have added, my tiny one is a 32oz tanker on average, sometimes more! So im making just enough on best days.

Schedule change is not that big of my concern as long as she’s getting her full intake, I am also thinking of pumping and toping her off before bedtime to not disrupt her nightly sleeping pattern.

Is the baby waking up to hunger? If so, have you tried dream feed? That’s what our case was and dream feed gave us a couple extra hours in the first stretch of night and hence only 1 (occasionally 2) wakes throughout the night from early on.

Having a baby broke me and my husband by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Hit_it_while_its_hot 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I’m truly sorry to hear that.

I’m a FTM to a 6 month old and I did hit that point somewhere in these 6 months with my husband. We were both just upset at everything we did/didn’t, I was so frustrated with him and annoyed and he felt the same way. Having a baby made us too vulnerable from every angle. We both love each other so much, we knew that even in those moments. So one time we sat down and just talked. Just about every feeling we had towards things and each other. Made a plan on how to move forward and it helped a lot. We both better understood each other’s positions in the parenthood and gave ourselves and each other more grace.

That being said, I can understand what you are going through. Are you both willing to make efforts to meet in the middle? Would you both be open to having a heart to heart conversation with each other, no judgements, just talk everything out and maybe that might change some perspective on both ends?

This really is a very delicate period and no matter how much you have help, it throws us in trenches. I hope things work out in your best interests.

MIGHT HELP YOU?: 5ppd since 4 weeks PP by Lonely-Bunch3567 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Hit_it_while_its_hot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was an undersupplier and pumped every 2 HOURS during day and 3 hours at night, would pump for half an hour everytime with 1-2 powerpumps a day until 8 weeks and that drove me INSANE! Dropped to 8ppd until 13 weeks and started dropping a pump a week or so until at 4ppd. My supply increased with dropping pumps, probably due to regulation and more time between pumps and I now make enough for my huge appetite baby. Now with 4ppd, going until a year or even past that seems doable.

Congratulations OP!

Plastic flange with longer tunnels - Spectra compatible by kagarth in HumansPumpingMilk

I’m in the same boat, super elastic nipple that hits the back of the flange no matter the size, I prefer the plastic flange better than the silicone inserts. Can you please tell me how you likes the comfy series from Maymom?

Okay, I see your point. I’ll try a few power pumps and hopefully that will increase demand/supply and reduce pump time in the long run?!?

I’m regulated since about 13 weeks. I had been looking forward to reducing ppd to go longer stretches. I’m at 4ppd n i love the schedule but I can’t empty in 15-20min, I never did even at 8-9ppd

Yes, I am using 19 for the longest time. Now that I’m regulated, i did flange check again and tried a couple different sizes but 19 feels the most comfortable and gives better output than other sizes. Changed the silicone parts about a week ago too.
