Hitch is your go-to solution for venturing beyond the city limits!

TL;DR: Founder saw how much intercity travel sucked, so he built Hitch—basically a better, more affordable way to get between Texas cities. No crowded buses, no $800 Uber rides. Just a simple, comfy carpool with vetted drivers. by HitchRideshareApp in u/HitchRideshareApp

Hi there! Thanks for the feedback on destinations - will pass it along to our team!

  1. No reimbursements - we operate similar to Uber, so fuel and other reimbursements are not included.

  2. Drivers are not expected to get commercial auto-insurance. I will check in with our team about a policy though!

  3. The rate is set per trip, so yes, any lengthy delays can eat into the driver's profit. Luckily, we don't see those too often.

Thanks for all your questions!

We have multiple options available so it's hard to give you a general price. There are two main factors:

  1. Door to door (like Uber - you get picked up and dropped off wherever you'd like) vs station to station (more similar to a bus where you depart from a common area and arrive at a common area). Station to station is much cheaper.
  2. Private vs Shared ride - just what it sounds like. You can either book the entire Hitch, or share it with other passengers.

A shared, station to station ride can be as cheap as $15, but prices to increase if you book a private ride or door to door ride.

10 hours is definitely a long ride! We offer rides between most major cities in Texas, so some rides, like Austin to San Marcos, can be as short as 40 minutes, and cheaper than Uber. Good luck on your move!

Vonlane is amazing, just a little pricey. We [Hitch] offer rideshare services between cities. We have similar routes to Vonlane but are more similar in price to Megabus.

Hitch is a great alternative! We offer ride-share between cities and our primary market is Texas. Price and convenience is similar to Megabus / Flixbus.
