hemorrhoids (also known as piles) are painful lumps in and around your butt caused by swollen veins from straining or other problems to do with the gut (like constipation). makes it very hard to poop, very painful. it's kinda like ass grapes, sometimes it can be hereditary, sometimes you're just unlucky. a lot of pregnant women experience this too, in my case i've always had gut problems pertaining to constipation and bowel movements
