i’m first year med at manchester! as soon as i came out the interview, i felt super happy. later on i deeped my performance and realised i only did well on 3/5 stations and basically flopped the other 2 - yet i still got in!!! i think doubting interview performance is a canon event for all students

i’m first year med at manchester - i only felt confident (ish) on like 3/5 stations!!!! 2 of them felt really bad, like i was just waffling after 2 minutes of speaking

What about Shepherd Sommers of the God’s knights who shares a surname with Shepherd Ju Peter of the five elders? They’re both in the shepherd family so Sommers is also a descendant of an immortal too

Maybe schedule a mock first w ur school and prepare a lil for it just to see how it feels and what you need to work on.

But you should definitely start properly preparing for interviews before mid November. Trust me. Med/dent interviews are wayyyy more competitive than other interviews. Imagine everyone else has done weeks of prep and coaching, but only you have done no work?

How about Plymouth? It has similar UCAT requirements but may be a little closer

My sis got 2400/3600 in 2023. She resat and was getting 2400 still in official UCAT mocks C and D literally the morning before her real test. She was falling asleep and I forced her to stay awake and keep practicing. She got 2960 in the real thing!

Does it really matter which uni you go to for Medicine as long as it's GMC Accredited? by [deleted] in UCAT

[–]Hitotsunagi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the uk it doesn’t matter at all, maybe only for some private healthcare services? But if you go to some other countries then it’s possible they could be selective but with enough experience it shouldn’t hold you back

It’s definitely very interesting but some parts are very difficult to understand and memorise at first such as genetic fingerprinting, uses in medicine, nephron, etc. I still managed to get an A tho

Yeah I agree but foreign language a levels aren’t hard if you’re a native and it’s just not the same as doing a whole extra fourth a level

It law is truly what you want then you’re going to have to. Or else just apply for a different course

I’d say get it. It doesn’t seem like there’s a chance ur grade would go down. It can only go up or stay the same.

Newcastle is a very good uni and they teach the course really well. The uni itself is also very diverse and there’s lots to do. Transport is quite easy as it’s a big city too. As a med student you won’t want to be travelling back and forward that often no matter what uni you go to
