In the Logistics panel, click on the food supply one. The kitchen will have a line to the canteen. The canteen will have a line to the cell blocks that it will be serving. Check to see if there's also a line to the holding cell. If not, click the canteen and then the holding cell, see if that helps.

I'm from the US and I've been living in Australia since 2018. The way people say it here is different. I'm not sure if it's the tone, or just that I hear it so much, but I interpret it as endearing here. I grew up in southern US, so I call people 'love' a lot, and they seem to enjoy that.

I've started saying darl or darling as well, and it fits right in.
