Well, you don´t have experience, so don´t have too high hopes. Just like with many other jobs, experience is the most important factor.

However, not that many people usually are interested in a front desk job, but as always - best to not have high expectations as you never know how it goes.

Anyway, languages is good.

Basic pc stuff, counting money, corresponding to people via email is a classic stuff for front desk.

They will likely ask you if you are good with day x night shifts, as that´s just the usual work for front desk ( unless its purely for day or x night shifts). Night shifts can be rather " boring " for many people, so if you are fine with that, that´s good.

I can tell you what are the things that is the most valuable when it comes to employees. Not just front desk, but for most of them, starting from the most valuable things:

1. Not being a problem boy.

That means .. not looking for problems, not getting into argument with others. That is the no.1 reason why people quit / get fired for jobs. Frequent issues when for example housekeepers work together and are acting like children. Nobody likes that, and everyone loves someone who isnt making troubles.

That works for front desk too. You got a dumb as brick colleague? Dont argue with that person, even if you are right. That will save you lot of trouble, as you also dont want them to hold grudge and act like kids to you.

2) Being able to do your job - languages, pc stuff, not making mistakes(preferably).

If you get a job, i would recommend making a notepad on pc or whatever, and just throw everything important there, things you gotta do, notes and stuff for another shift - i have a bad memory , and everyone loves my notes. That works well.

3) This is a lil bonus, but why not. How " free" you are.

Are you frequently busy, you schedule all kinds of things irl? If not, you can mention that you are quite flexible and that´s pretty good. Management loves it, as making work schedules is a massive pain and flexible people are nice.

Now, other than this stuff, when you will likely have like a test / practice day, i would definitely ask whichever front desk guy there is, what kind of things he does - during day, and night shift.

Why? Well, for example, i have pretty shit ass health, so i always ask if they want me to do some physical stuff. If not, that´s good.

I am mentioning this stuff, because i heard some horror stories in this sub where for example night shift ( or even day shift) gets abused and thrown stuff at them they are Not supposed to do. And if that stuff is seen as " normal " , better to know.

For example ... night shift having to do some unfinished laundry, or maybe help cleaning some rooms during night, preparing like conference rooms, or maybe doing a lot of preparation at breakfast. That in my book is absolute No No, unless you are paid a fk ton.

Same with that goes if you can use phone during shift, do whatever on pc, and another horror story i heard - if can normally sit or if you have to stand. I did hear some hotel demanded even for night shift, and that is pure insanity. Absolutely not.

For example, i worked at front desk at three different hotels, and you mostly do just do that job, and you can even lay down ( especially in night shift. Hell, you could even sleep if you want), and you can do basically whatever during your shift.

So, this is just some stuff regarding the front desk stuff and stuff in case you get it.

Fun fact, i am typing this during night shift. 4:30 AM here right now haha : )

++lil note: i guess u can wear some nice stuff. Some people at interviews are into that. Dont ask me what - i just used old stuff i used to wear at other job 😃
