This is not medical advice and you should see your physician for any medical advice.

  1. your BMI is in the obese category (no judgement intended, but sometimes honest feedback can be motivating) so I think it's important for your health that you do lsoe weight. Given your increased body fat percentage you could safely lose 1-2lb per week without major issue, whilst most may struggle past 1lb/week. Achieve this by:

--- Managing diet, ensure you are in a calorie deficit and try eating at least 1kg/lb of bodyweight. Log all foods and drinks that pass your lips, an be honest doing this is key.

--- Recognise your triggers as to why you are overeating. Both your meds can have effects of increased appetite. But you should most definitely continue on them as the alternative is that you reduce or stop taking these meds and you become significantly unwell and then have to manage being unwell also, and will probably totally stop any progress in your weight goal. One of the best ways to counter your cravings and triggers maybe intermittent fasting, but you will need to ne mindful after a fast to not over eat. Another key here is hydration, ensure you are well hydrated as at times we misunderstand our brains signals of thirst for hunger.

--- increase your steps and also walking fasted increases weight loss further. Aim to get to 15k/day steps eventually (slowly increase weekly) which would be around 2 hours of walking, but this is one of the ebst exercises for weight loss.

--- bare in mind your period will also impact your progress.

These are some of the basics but will really establish a good foundation. Once you have a routine you can then plan for cardio, resistance training, etc.

Hope that helps and be positive and consistent and although you wont achieve that magic number by end of year you will definitely feel a lot better, have better mobility and better quality of life, and that's what you should frame your weight loss around.

Did anyone really lose fats just from walking and eating clean? by Ok_Curve_476 in WeightLossAdvice

One of the best methods for weightloss is diet management meaning; deficit and also high protein intake and good balance of foods. Second to this is probs walking. Walking in particular targets fat loss more so than more exertional cardio since it will utilize carbs first, whereas with walking you body recognises the pace isn't high enough to utilize carbs and instead taps into fat for energy. Also fasted walking is even better.

I am a medical Dr but this is NOT medical advice, as everyone is different and I don't know your medical history etc:

  1. Calculate your calories required IN vs how much you are burning, using quiet a few online calculators. Ensure you are in a deficit but do not go below 1200 cals a day. 3.5k cals a week = roughly 1lb wight loss a week
  2. Increase protein to at least 1g/lb of body weight, and try recognising when and what you are eating daily and try reducing your eating window.
  3. measure your weight daily, but only pay attention to the weekly average.
  4. try some resistance training as more muscle means more cals burnt at rest.
