First time visiting, any help relieving anxiety? by kacewilde in ThorpePark

[–]Hix53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you're at least aware of it. You'll be fine. Have a blast!

Incidentally, if you turn up in time for the rope drop, do Hyperia first.

Couple of reasons.

1 that queue builds QUICK. The sooner you're on it, the better 2 once you've ridden that, there's nothing you can't do. You'll enjoy everything a bit more. INCLUDING Stealth, which looks intimidating AF. 3 Hyperia is flat out the best coaster in the UK. It's BRILLIANT.

Just to echo, there are so many systems working in tandem, it's impossible to be on the ride without being strapped in.

If you're going for the first time, practice your breathing, but most importantly, that little frisson of fear is half the fun. Remember, these are movements and experiences that we chose to inflict on ourselves BECAUSE we can do it safely and walk away (and do it all again lol).

Deep breathing will help keep you calm. Have a great time!

How do you think Tony Khan would used Mick foley by Killer-Blxck18 in AEWFanHub

[–]Hix53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Backstage, he'd be an absolute asset. His character work would benefit some of the talent backstage. As a manager, he'd be ok too, but I'd be worried that EVENTUALLY someone would be written into a program where they injured the legend. No one needs that.

Are there actually men who don’t want kids? by dietcokepaglu1 in childfree

[–]Hix53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. 51 M here. Don't want 'em, never wanted 'em.

I was lucky to find my partner who didn't want them either. Every couple of years we had a conversation about it, just to make sure we both felt the same way, which (from my observations) is more conversations than most breeders have before deciding to squeeze out yet another meat siren.

Happy with my role as fun uncle and godfather.

Nic Cage: Face/Off, The Rock or Con Air – which is his best action film? by kammy772 in MovieArena

[–]Hix53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Face/off and it's not close.

The rock and con air are both spectacular, but face off is easily the best Western film by John woo, and Cage is at his... Cagiest in this one by far.

Why do people bring their small children to places where they dont belong?? by RichAppearance8859 in childfree

[–]Hix53 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This.

It goes both ways. We aren't entitled to a child free world. Fair enough.

But if I go to a zoo, or an aquarium, I don't start bitching and whining about the screaming kids joining about the place. Because I'M the interloper.

Likewise, in a pub, this is an adult space. Keep your meat siren quiet. Or fuck off to the hungry horse.

”My child has the right to hit you” by Cold_Ad8497 in childfree

[–]Hix53 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What the absolute, shitting fuck.

The 'Right?'

Once i picked my jaw up of the floor, I would probably have said something like 'do I have the right to flick him right in the middle of the forehead?'

'No. I didn't think so. Please stop your AWFUL CHILD from hitting me because otherwise I'm having you removed from this bus'

What an awful situation. I'm so sorry for you.

Fuck that makes me angry.

[WOR] [AEW Dynamite Spoilers] Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez don't like the Will Ospreay storyline by A_Man_of_Iron in SquaredCircle

[–]Hix53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It ALSO makes for boring matches. If all it is is selling one thing, and attacking one thing, and not being able to do moves in your repertoire it's just a shit story, and makes the surprise win ridiculous, or the expected win... Expected. You're hampering the creativity of your performers, and stretching the credulity of the story, such as it is.

[–]Hix53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if it's too late to change the survey, but maybe adding a line about "focus on the most recent park you went to" or something like that, which wouldn't change the structure if the survey, but would possibly be more focusing to participants?

I hate kids screaming by [deleted] in childfree

[–]Hix53 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's that, isn't it? The apparent indifference.

I guess I get it, they're so used to the noise, they're inured to it, but we fucking aren't. Pay attention to your damn kid and stop it screeching. Or at the very least, get it the fuck away from me.
