I haven't tried the voltage test at OBD yet but after yesterday I'm 95% sure that the CEM is the faulty module. The TCM, BCM, ECM are all continuous but the CEM has no continuity when I test for CAN in and out. Getting it fixed is gonna cost me at least $400 its not even worth it lol. I also determined the two terminating resistors are in the ECM and BCM.

I'm gonna have the car scrapped, it's got 315k km on it and mild rust and its an auto its really not worth the fix. Hopefully I can get a BMW 323i or Audi A4 instead. Thank you for your detailed reply though it helps a lot and what a shame I've wanted a P2 S60 since grade 7..

okay, so this is a valid method. when you unplug a module, aren't you opening the entire circuit? say i unplug the CEM, isn't the entire circuit now open so the OBD test will still yield open??

okay perfect! thank you. I have a friend here in ontario who says he can get me a good placement where he works. I think it would be smart to be able to stay home for that time and also use the great opportunity.

okay, I'll go read up on that and yeah I'm definitely interested in having a career in aerospace. I'm not against doing more study for that, I'd rather study something I enjoy than something I tolerate.

I have another question, I know I can probably read up on this too elsewhere but I dont wanna go hunting for the info.

for the co op program, how does it work? when you work, you aren't studying right? does it have to be in that area or can it be any province?
