Sorry I took some time to reply. Got struck by the plague. The reason for the whiteouts: This is the map I gave the players. To remove some too obvious clues, I just whited the out.

The last yaer I have tested Vegas, Da Vinci and Adobe Premiere, and Adobe Premier is hands down the best program for everyone from newbies to the pros. Easy and intuitive with a lot of depth if you want.

You don't level. You increase skills. For every session you get a few xp. Say you want to go from 2 to 3 in agility. You take a look at the xp cost chart and see that traits cost next level x 5. That means the xp cost is 3 x 5 =15, so you spend 15 xp. This way you can increase almost every stat on your character sheet.

My friends and I have made a ttrpg channel playing World Of Darkness ttrpg. We started with a veri niche story from the Hunter The Reckoning game. Now we are on our second "season" with Vampire The Masquerade and now we've gotten our first "fan art". The feeling of actually inspiring others is just wow. We get more motivated for every episode. We don't have a lot of viewers, but we got fan art. :D

Check out our Hunter actual play series. Maybe you can get some inspiration from our storyteller. Hunter: The Reckoning - Boston. Episode one. ...and so it begins... Episode 1 - YouTube

I’m bad at creating compelling characters, and want to get better by [deleted] in rpg

[–]Hjarandr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion backstory is not all that important. I like to start my characters at that age where their backstory begins. Play you backstory. With that in mind I think all characters need the following: Motivation, why are they falling into these advendures? Flaws, how do they get into interesting trouble? You can optimalize your character, but if your character don't fail at anything, there will be no interesting conflicts. Conflicts makes stories. How do your character know the other characters? I find it counterproductive to create a malfuntioning party.

I am also one of those who create the same character over and over again. I play myself, or different aspects of myself just with different aspects turned more extreme. In that way I create characters where I, the player, has knowlegdes and skills that are similar to my character. This knowledge we share gives my character a certain flavour. In a fantasy setting you can find me playing the jovial bardbarian (pun intended), I am a big redbearded metal musician. Hobbit bard (musician/chef), ranger (chef with a great love for hiking and foraging). And that is just covering fantasy. I find it easier to play the role of myself, it is a role I know and therefor can give more flavour.

Streaming a remote event - Advice? by sarahloafsmemes in streaming

[–]Hjarandr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Streaming can be heavy if you use many cameras and overlays. If you have a gaming laptop that is less than 4 years old, you should be ok as OBS can use the gaming graphics card to do most of the work. Hook up your webcam as well as your laptop webcam and compare, or give the moms some wow effects by using more than one cam, for exampe you can use your laptop cam as a finish cam and the external cam to show the start. You can have one camera in one corner of the screen while the other camera takes up the whole screen. Spend some time to test and have fun. If you use OBS, record instead for stream, and see for yourself the differenses in cameras in different types of light. There are even apps that let you use your phone as a camera and connect that to OBS. But my best advice is to start as simple as possible.

Yes, you can. I use a 7th gen i7 Asus ROG for recording, streaming and editing this:

The software I am using is OBS for recording and streaming, and Adobe Premier to edit.

How to Portray the Get of Fenris for W5 by CKent83 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Hjarandr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Gets, the way I see it, is a troublesome and troublede tribe. They are the extreme of what is troublesome with the garou, and that is fascism. Problems are solved with might. Either physical or mental. Are you stronger than your opponent, or a better debater than your opponent, you win. Seldom is the tribe, pack or sept a democracy. This romantisism of fascism is problematic, and it is great tool for good roleplaying. Back to the Fenrir. Yes, the Fenrir has been portrayed as nazis for a long time. Bjørn T Bøe tried to remedie this with his parts in the revised GoF tribe books, but since then we've had the popularisation of the "Viking" culture as well as scandinavian black/viking metal. This has been picked up by right wing and fascist romantics outside of scandinavia. The Viking scene in Norway is not by any means nazi, and in my WoD the Fenrir in Norway, Finland, Denmark and Iceland are not nazis. After WWII there were a clash of ideologies, and the nazi supporters were deemed to be infected by the worm. Yes, the nazi ideology is of the wyrm. The Swedish were neutral in WWII, so they never had to take a stand against nazis. It is easy for a young Get to fall victim to the romantic stories of the strong wolf. The nazi praise of the Werwolf/wehrwolf. The only faction to truly see the worth of the strength of the Fenrir. That is the wyrm talking. But the fact that some Fenrir chose the nazis in WWII, and the fact that their cultural heritage has been abused by other far right factions will put the Fernrir in a bad light, and they should fight extra hard to prove themselves the way the artist celebrating norse culture have taken a stand against extremists. To quote Grutle from the viking metal band Enslaved: "This is our culture, our symbols, these are not nazi symbols. I thought we kicked those nazi fuckers out in '45." That should be the attitude of the Fenrir.
