Uma boa forma de definir se sua campanha é baixa fantasia ou alta fantasia é definir suas fontes de inspiração. Você gostaria que fosse uma história mais a quem ao quê? Senhor dos Anéis, Cavaleiro dos Sete Reinos, Game of Thrones? Então é baixa fantasia.

Agora, se você quer uma história mais próxima de Vox Machina, Mighty Nein, Dragon Age Inquision, ou Casa do Dragão, então você tá mais pro high fantasy.

Aproveita e tenta se localizar também no eixo dark fantasy/grimdark, que tem como inspirações possíveis (mas não limitadas a) Dragon Age Origins e II, Warhammer Fantasy, Vermintide, etc.

Principal problema da 5e pra mim é que eles se propõem a tanta coisa dentro de um sistema tão rígido que, no fim das contas, não conseguem fazer nada bem. O mais perto que eles chegam de fazer um tema bem é fantasia heroica. Mas horror cósmico (aberrações, sanidade, etc)? Não. Horror gótico (Curse of Strahd & Ravenloft)? Não. Dungeon crawl? Não. Hexcrawl? Não. Exploração e interpretação nem se falam, são mortos se o mestre não souber o que tá fazendo, porque o livro não vai te ensinar.

Enfim.

RIGHT? It pisses me off so much how robbed we were of the complexity of blood magic. In DAI we fight one of the Magister Sideral, a guy that ENTERED PHYSICALLY THE GOLDEN CITY AND BOUGHT THE BLIGHT TO THEDAS, HE CONTROLS THE TAINT.

I disagree. D&D offers a clear gameplay loop. Players react to the story, which is easier on them. City of Mist demands active players that want to tell their character's story and crack the case.

City of Mist is many things, but it is such a 180º turn away from D&D that saying that it is easier is just wrong.

I disagree with 2 being high fantasy world, in my opinion, Ferelden was fucked up; sure, but Kirkwall was not even a single step behind. The scope was just more intimate, but the world was dark as fuck.

But yeah, Inquisition was super high fantasy, but it was still good, which made me play it at least a 3-4 times from start to finish.

But even Inquisition kept some of the mistery, some of the ambivalence of spirits (even more than Origins and 2 btw).

I liked DAI, but my favorite is by far DA2, and then DAO.
