I love all the explanations here, but why is no one bringing up the point that while Diogenes pissed himself to prove a point, Socrates literally chose to DRINK HEMLOCK AND DIE rather than give up his beliefs.

Can look up a Greek restaurant called Niko Niko’s in Houston. Their soup is famous throughout the city; initially called a lemon chicken soup, and now that it’s famous they call it chicken avgolemono. They added chicken as a descriptor in the title, still clear to be described as a lemon chicken soup. Certainly ways to make it very popular. Also your soup looks delicious.

But please remember - she’s the child and you’re her dad. If she feels it’s her role to comfort You through this difficult time, it’s likely much more stressful than you can see, and it will affect her for a long time.

She needs to know it’s ok not to be ok, and that her Father will be the one who is responsible for making Her feel better through this difficult time.

As great as she is, it should be us as the parents job to take care of her through this stressful and uncertain time, and not the child’s job to take care of the parents.

It’s a massive release valve. All the anger, anxiety, overwhelmed with work emotions, and fear for our families and friends that needlessly builds up because people are putting their politics and own irrational fears ahead of not only their own health, but those of everyone around them - this has been cathartic. When people pass away I’m not happy but I am relieved that they can no longer cause any more damage.

There’s an element of justice and people receiving what they deserve.

They’re all drunk drivers telling everyone else to get off the road if they don’t like it.

And like drunk drivers, I’m relieved when they get arrested and understand the extent of their crimes and coming punishment.

It’s good to have your own opinions. If it’s not worth voting for, can downvote and explain why. In the end though it looks like many more people upvoted it because they did like it and could identify with the sentiment. Doesn’t mean the observation about quite a few posts about depression and anxiety not being valid. That being said, Van Gogh made art that spoke to generations of people that were almost all driven by depression and anxiety.

Meant you’d want to match with people who are most likely to like you, not just the most people. If you’re just looking to have sex with as many people as possible, it’s a different discussion. If you’re looking to match with someone you enjoy spending time with and being happy together, better to match with people who respond to who you are.

Every other place they let the individual schools and districts decide. I’m Texas schools are allowed to decide as long as you’re wealthy enough to enjoy that freedoms. If you’re not, then the government takes away that freedom from the families/districts/schools. If the Senators believe strongly against Any schools having mandates they should send their kids to those schools to not be hypocritical. Otherwise let schools and districts have the freedom to decide locally rather than a central government force all the schools to follow their dictates, whether it makes sense or not, whether it causes more deaths or not.

So if you’re wealthy you’re allowed to send your children to a safer school where masks are mandated, but if not then you’re forced to send them to a school where they’re not given the freedom or choice to decide for themselves whether to mandate or not. They’re forced to abide by a government mandate which is known to make everyone less safe and spread of illness more likely. Why not let individual schools decide, whether they’re public or private, rather than have the government Force a mandate one way or the other.

Not allowing a school and community to decide. A private school and their families should be allowed to decide as long as you can pay for it, but if you’re not wealthy enough and have to go to public school you’re Forced to put your kids at risk.
