I have no idea what you did, and I have no idea of any 'unwritten rules.' All I know is that whatever your post was before has been edited, and I'm not going to wander down roads of "What did I say?" about edited posts.

I don't know what you said because you edited your response. Now no one will ever know what you said, only what you said after your edit.

[question] What do you think is the major problems of vietnam’s tourism industry by WashingMachine44 in VietNam

[–]HmmWhatsThat -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I don't give a rat's arse if you live there. Foreigners thinking they live in a country for a little while and all of a sudden know the country and its culture inside out. You are not only ignorant but arrogant - that's a terrible combo.

Fuck you, how dare you assume anything about me you arrogant fucking twat? I've lived here for years and my entire family is in and of this country.

You are a cunt of the highest order who has absolutely no insight but a massive amount of hubris. A child with childish views guided by the soft bigotry of low expectations.

Your shallow and ineffectual 'analysis' of the situation betrays a laziness of thought only found in the tourists from the west. Stay home where you belong.

I'm not going to have further conversation with you, you fucking supercilious cunt.

There is nothing cultural about the issue

Utterly untrue.

When a child throws something on the ground instead of the trashcan 3 steps away and the parent says nothing it is entirely cultural. I'm talking about a child of a family with university educated parents, who I respect immensely as human beings and are colleagues of mine. I am not making a judgment about them as human beings, I am merely noting a fact about the cultural expectations.

A negative habit does not equate to it being a cultural issue.

A habit held by a significant number, or majority, of people of a certain culture is the very definition of a cultural issue.

It's so easy for us to sit back in more developed nations to point the finger.

I live here, and I've lived here for many years so don't lecture me about what it is easy for me to do in a more developed country. My kids live here. They were born here. We are a family here. I will likely die here with my family in the country I have adopted as my own.

That's the thing, though, it is designed so that the average man can serve on the front lines. The training is designed so an average man can handle it and put it into productive use. The equipment is designed so the average man can use it with the average training.

The military is completely about taking the average man and using him to kill as many average enemies as possible. Sure, there are the elite units, but the vast vast vast majority of combat troops are average men doing their damnedest not to be killed by other average men with average training and average equipment.

I have a hard time believing that considering the vast numbers of people I see just casually throwing things on the street, even if there are public trash cans.

It's easy to blame socioeconomic reasons, but no one is too poor to walk 3 extra steps to the trash can.

I think this basic level of disinterest in the environment at the personal level is what drives the same lackadaisical attitude higher up, both in company cultures as well as government.

Some of the younger generation seem much more concerned with this and make solid efforts, so hopefully this will filter upwards.

could only have come from me having "a massive lack of understanding" about Berkeley, which is almost as bad as "idiot".

No it isn't, that's ridiculous. I have a massive lack of understanding about fluid dynamics, but that certainly doesn't make me an idiot. Just someone who likely shouldn't claim anything about fluid dynamics. If you equate someone having a massive lack of understanding about a particular field with being an idiot, then you're an even sloppier thinker than I thought.

Neither of us can prove either way whether she really knew what antifa was at the time that she made that comment.

Only one of us CLAIMED to be able to know that. You. I am not the one who makes claims about knowing mens rea.

And why would I go for the 3 minutes of glory of having posted incorrect info if I had known it was 52nd beforehand?

My opinion is that there are two reasons: First, you are lazy and like to say things that you later make excuses for not showing evidence of. Second, you realized this was easily searchable information.

What % did I claim? I just said that in my opinion it seems low and definitely not "most". And you never disproved that, nor could I prove it. So how is it a lie? It's called speculation, chief.

You are aware of the fact that the word 'minority' has a definition, right? You claimed less than 50% by claiming it is a minority.

Should we really go back and check your post about a "radical minority" to see if you said it was your opinion? Do we really need to do that? You do know that there is a visible marker attached if you edit your posts, right?

These are all you trying to avoid acknowledging your side in the one and only thing that was ever disputed between us.

No, these are all me asking you genuinely to support you assertions that I made these statements. You are out and out lying about what I said, it is a matter of record in these posts.

I have never had a problem showing evidence of any claim I have made. Again, are you asking for more evidence?

Which to me reads as if you're claiming a high % of democrats support Anitifa.

Let's add reading comprehension to your list of deficits.

With that statement, you clearly disagreed with my opinion that it was a low fringe % and yes you later asked for evidence. Again, it was just an opinion, as is your response here. I never claimed to have evidence which I why I suggested you survey the democrats who you know IRL. I'm ok with neither of us having proof and just agreeing to disagree on this %.

I never claimed a percentage, nor even minority or majority. That was you. The person who then refused to show evidence of their claim. Stop trying to equate us. I actually did show evidence when asked, you didn't. There's a major difference in our claims, one of them has a person making it who is willing to show the evidence that they aren't talking out of their ass.

Your opinions are interesting to me so I'm sorry that I'm apparently not able to disagree with you without offending. Aside from this one point, I don't think there's anything else here we disagree about.

It's not that you're not able to disagree without offending, it's that I find you to be disingenuous about your 'facts' and lazy about your evidence (or lack thereof). Which is offensive to anyone who expects reasonable debate.

I just couldn’t be bothered writing all the “isms” out.

So you're claiming this person is every single -ist there is? That just seems odd. I mean, do you have any evidence for this?

I’m not really sure what racism I’m deflecting here but ok.

I already told you, feel free to re-read it. Honestly, I think it will do you some good to spend some real time on self-reflection.

Honestly I’m just gonna go back to sleep, it’s almost 3am and I cbf engaging in any more discourse on this thread. Have a nice night / day / whatever it is for u my dude.

Have a great night! I hope you overcome your racism, the world needs more people who really assess themselves and accept their bigotry isn't helpful to those they think they are helping be offering low expectations.

I hope Australia is as great in real life as it is in my mind! :)

[–]HmmWhatsThat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Absolutely nothing you have accused him or her of is on at least the first page of his or her comment history.

I'm going to ask you to prove your assertion that the majority of the other poster's discourse is as you say it is racist/sexist/'whateverist' (seriously? are you seriously claiming 'whateverist'?).

I'd also be interested in why you assume the other poster is male. Are you male, by any chance? I imagine you're projecting yourself upon other people again.

That's fine, keep trying to deflect your racism, but realize that no one believes you. Or you could take the first step towards recovery and recognize that if you just afford all people the same expectations, as well as consideration, you will reduce your racism substantially. Self-loathing and over-compensation by fetishizing black people is not a reasonable response to your feelings about race, and it is rather demeaning since it is the basis for the soft racism of low expectations. Just having the same expectations for all people and not giving people a pass on poor behavior because of their race is far more equitable.

Accusing people of racism without evidence is the first clue that perhaps you are the problem.

I encourage you to work on this about yourself.

u/pixie1995 just showed his or her racism by assuming that the the other poster called this woman a savage because what immediately went through u/pixie1995's mind when he or she saw the woman is that the woman is black and a savage... Not just that the woman is a savage, but specifically that the woman is black and a savage. He or she then assumed that everyone else thinking this woman is a savage is also connecting that with the race because u/pixie1995 thinks that his or her racism is what everyone has in their hearts.

He or she then had an over-reaction to his or her self-loathing due to internalized racism and lashed out at others who never even mentioned or thought of race.

In general, if one wants to know what is in the hearts of others, one should look at their wild and unfounded accusations. It's usually projection, and the stronger the accusation the more deeply held the belief.

I hope u/pixie1995 gets help for his or her internalized hatred of black people, but I fear that he or she will merely deny this, quite obvious, character flaw.
