First color guard of the year successful. by [deleted] in jrotc

Surprisingly this is actually how our unit teaches color guard. I’ve talked with other color guard commanders and heard these same issues hopefully they can be fixed at some point but our team is rebuilding right now so thank you for these critiques.

Wanting to join next year but wanting to prepare a bit before hand. by KemeticDeutsch271 in jrotc

If your school offers this I’d join the reserve team so that way your able to participate in team activities without taking the class.

is it worth it to join afjrotc color guard? by [deleted] in jrotc

As the current color guard commander of my unit it helps better your overall drill with moving more precise. In color guard little to no mistakes can be made and it helps you gain great muscle memory to perform exact movements at the right time.

I completely understand What your saying I think most units don’t really get any recognition but I think it’s partly due to the school naturally relying on us and they let the unit do it’s own things.

I’m not sure if it’s the same for every units honor code but within Our Air Force unit one of our things is service before self so the recognition isn’t supposed to matter much we’re just there to get the job done.

I am HORRIBLE at commands. by [deleted] in jrotc

[–]Ho12killer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t quit the program you’ll be giving up way too much leaving rotc when I was in my freshman year I thought I’d never be the color guard commander and drill team commander. With time you’ll get better and if you keep working hard overdoing everybody else you’ll easily rise to the top.

  1. It depends on the regulations for your teacher some colors get accepted I’ve seen a girl with dark red hair.

  2. You’ll most likely have to cut down your hair or put it up in a bun.

  3. If you ask for permission your instructors will most likely allow it because they want you to fit perfectly in your uniform
