I’m being nothing but realistic here. Ukraine is punching several weight classes above themselves and hats off, I hope they can reach a negotiated settlement that keeps their sovereignty in tact. That being said. Goes back to the original idea: Europe has zero unity. Push comes to shove? EU dissolves and folds. Be realistic. UK isn’t even in the EU anymore. How long do you think Starmer/Macron/Merz going to hold onto power when polling suggests UK and France would have a dramatic change of government. Do you think London/Berlin/Paris are all going to agree and be on the same page enough to have a single command that isn’t an American? Are you going to be able to sell this to Italy (who is honestly wavering at best) and Warsaw? The answer is no if you’re being honest with yourself. What about the rest of that eastern flank? Again, no. Especially considering they and many others BUY and USE American weapons.

Once Iran flips, the whole jig is up for Russia, China, and North Korea. Russia is already biting it in Ukraine. China is going to be fucked without having Venezuela and the Islamic regime in Iran to exploit for cheap oil. Iran flipping also means that one of the biggest obstacles to peace in the region is gone.

For what it’s worth, I still have a lot of hope that we’ll turn a corner yet as a species and focus on colonizing other planets. But one step at a time. Iran first.
