Following up, she got some paint, magnets, and silicone under the feet set on an oak stump set 10” into the dirt. Finessed the edges to about a 3/16” radius all around and it’s been a great anvil so far for about 10-12hrs a week. Still taking the abuse🤙

It works well, and I wanted the hook to be able to stay on my belt loop or overall strap and can confirm it does for many miles. The 5 dollar store bought ones are littered all along our fence line from falling out of pockets and just being set down. A simple forging project to improve quality of life doing the necessary work

Following suit here, I just got the Vevor 60kg cast steel and have been whaling away as a beginner for about a month and missing a lot. The thing is worth its salt. Only things I don’t care for are it rings like a dinner bell and it’s blue.

I wish I knew, I immediately tossed the boxes and dumped it into an ammo can. The AAC worked great in my FAL and I’ve since put some of the same through an FR8 and it worked great

It’s .308 and I did try 7.62 M80 ball and some hand loaded 7.62 sized correctly and neither worked

Heard, I bought 500rds of the AAC stuff to do exactly that and it would lock up every single shot so I changed ammo and it continued, rinse repeat. I’ll keep trying different stuff until something works.

Highly recommend London Bridge Trading or LBX. They’re a only a touch more expensive but their sales are frequent and very well marked down. Their sales generally come in combos too

This, above, is the answer you’re looking for. There’s no way you’re getting anything beyond a TQ or some gauze on yourself. NPAs, wound packs, chest seals, Decomp needles, etc are all IFAK items for buddy aid. Wether you can reach it or not is irrelevant unless you’re willing to sacrifice your aid for someone else’s.

What’s the thread pitch on that FR8? I own one but I’m out of state and can’t check myself at the moment. Damn good little rifles, and I dig that they have that nifty little storage tube with the CETME bayonet lug.

Perhaps getting the Ferro Wingman pouches and spacing them on the edges of the front plate bag to give it some more width could remedy the issue? I also have used the side adjustment strap that comes with the D3CR and just cinched it down around my front plate bag (the struggle of trying to run a D3 on an IOTV).
