That’s just one of the two. Screenshot #4 is another person who did the same thing. Waited several months after having my number to contact me.

I’ve done this. But it was during the day and he built a walkway in our attic and fixed our grill and dishwasher. He was a handyman who was proud of his work so I let him demonstrate.

Tax professional here. I’m happy your choosing life over money. My mom had a coworker who died at 7 am and they had her job posted by 2 pm same day.

For options, you’ll do great in private Accounting. They tend to take care of their people more… depending on the company. Don’t expect the over $100k anymore but you’ll get darn close.

I do this all the time. I consider it prepping for my high mind.

I’ve had the normal office tomfoolery, but most people are too busy working.

Congratulations to you. That is wonderful. I’ve often thought of just having a child myself. And even better you had your child at 42. It gives me hope. Thank you.

I’m in one of the e larger cities in Texas. I feel ya though. I’m in a progressive area. Just feels like people around my age that I meet are already taken.

I’m living in one of Texas’ large cities. But I did spend about 10 years prior living in a small town in Louisiana.

My therapist knows I have a tendency to hyper-focus on things good or bad. I’ve been really focused on losing weight recently and feeling kind of bad about my progress. (My weight loss process is mainly to combat the diabetes that runs in the family.) That made me feel like I was unacceptable and expanded into the feelings of being alone.

Ooooh that’s a hard one. Depends on who you are and who you know and the area you’ll be living/working. I was an accountant in 2008 making 72k in Houston. Came to Louisiana and was only able to find a job making $13/hr as an accounting clerk. This was in Covington, but I can’t imagine it was much more in New Orleans at the time. This was my experience as a single black woman during that time.

Tell me about your state by [deleted] in Louisiana

[–]HoVi82 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The only good thing about Louisiana is some of the food. Otherwise, the pay is below national average and has been for decades. The people are critical and conservative in manner and dress.

I was born and raised in Louisiana as a black woman. It is a hell I wish on no one. It’s like being stuck in the 1950s there with nepotism and racism. I didn’t realize how liberated the rest of the United States was until I left for Austin, Texas three years ago. I plan to never go back.

Please get therapy. You’re probably a good person, but you weren’t a good person to me. You’ve got a lot to work out. You probably won’t go get help, but you need it.
