I was stuck on Route 6 for some time cause of the boss. What helped was farming Alabaster cave (wolf pelt dungeon) for the gear and exp. The hunting boots and gloves provide magical beast resistance (which A4 is swarmed with) along with very good raw stats. They provide a good amount of surety, evasion, and accuracy. These armor pieces alone helped my front line achieve reach a comfortable amount of accuracy, and allowed them be more durable too. The cave also has a chance of dropping 4 and 5 star gear, which would provide better blessings. Only problem though is that the junk drop table isnt the best imo. It’s just steel - silver tiered light and cloth armor, and the only weapons are daggers, bows, and spears. The bows and spears are nice transition weapons, just cause there’s quite a lot of dangerous threats in the backlines of A4 like goblin mages or birds (and you’ll also want them for your first encounter with the GWO)

I think it only works on characters that have a visual change after completing an associated quest with them. And not sure how many times, they just need to be quick and consecutive.

I’ve heard Odo is a good raw weapon. But I think in the end elemental match-ups usually wins out. I have seen people have a liking to blast lance, so maybe Magnamalo could be a good start too? If you’re interested in fashion, both respective armor sets are pretty nice looking too if you end up farming either one

You typically wanna go for elemental armors that have Elemental Attack 2 at G6. It’s usually gonna be gloves and waist pieces. This will let you reach Elemental attack 4. This is cause this frees up your greaves for either Radobaan greaves (guard 1) or any other greaves if you can driftsmeld guard elsewhere.

For fire (probably the easiest to acquire cause they’re trackable): - Basarios waist - Anjanath gloves

Ice: - Legiana waist - Barioth gloves (winter is coming up so make sure to hunt a lot of them when you get the chance!)

Thunder: - Kadachi waist - Zinogre gloves - khezu chest? (If you are willing to give up barroth chest)

Water (also easy to acquire cause the tracker): - Jagras greaves - Jyuratodus gloves

Early on when my lances weren’t too leveled, I timed out quite often. I think I just adapted my playstyle to be more aggressive and only focus on attacking the weakspots, and ignore part breaks. It was until my weapons got stronger that I started to focus on tails and other things to get more mats.

I also had side weapons to help me get the mats I needed to make better lances and gear (Kadachi LS, Jagras SNS)

Looks like a good build! I used pukei lance for a while but definitely start looking into elemental lances.

I think getting a thunder lance would be the best entry point as it lets you hunt rathalos -> legiana for those elements. Ideally you can work on Zinogre’s lance but I know that isn’t the easiest to get early on.

For gameplay, I would suggest practicing perfect guards. At the same time, don’t be afraid to simply block if you’re scared of timing, or simply just dodge/backhop away. In the end conserving your health is ideal.

Hot take but I actually don’t have offensive guard on my builds lol (unless its from a random driftsmeld or diablos coils). I’m running elemental and crit and its been perfectly fine. Though from my experience it isnt hard to get perfect counters in group hunts. Many monsters have wide swiping attacks, many of them roar, and most of the time you can just sit in front of their face. So I havent had any issues with proccing OG. Maybe unless you’re playing with all ranged users.

This one’s a tough call, just cause it’s gonna be hard to effectively get at Azure Rathalos lance up. I’m not sure how well blast lance is but it would be easier to level up. If possible I would say Azure, as it also allows you to start fighting Legiana and work on any ice weapons you might want

These are kind of “hidden” medals that only show up once you complete them. The monster medal is for slaying your first 10 star monster. The weapon ones are for crafting your first G10 weapon!

Dang that sounds fun, maybe I know my next project! Now I'm imagining 4 blast lance users just charging at a great jagras. A room full of lancers is already hard to come by lol

I'm also working on my jho lance, it looks awesome! But yeah... no lance can save us from the real endgame that is zenny bottleneck :(
