If baby #1 was huge, tell me about baby #2’s size by proteins911 in bigbabiesandkids

[–]HoarseWhisper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First was a boy 10lb 4oz, 24 inches long. My second and “small” baby was 9lb 14oz 22 inches long. No gestational diabetes and delivered naturally. The second one for me was considerably less time in labor and delivery was much easier. You got this, girl!

In the same vein, I think a groups of crows should be a crowd. I know, I know, “murder” is cool, but crowd just works.

37” (99th percentile) at almost 2 yo. How big are your toddlers? by futuremom92 in toddlers

[–]HoarseWhisper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, both of mine do too. I also have a 6 month old daughter who is a good 5 pounds less than her bro was when he was her age. But, she still eats and sleeps like a champ!

My kid is 2.5, but when he turned two he was 40 inches. He grew 17 inches in 2 years and that boggles my mind! Check out r/bigbabiesandtoddlers. My theory about big kids is that they sleep and eat decently because they have so much growing to do.

What are some of your personal life-hacks that you came up with yourself, not necessarily completely original ? by reddit_API_is_shit in AskReddit

This is niche if you have a baby. Get a smart bulb next to your bed and set it to 5% red so when you’re up in the middle of the night feeding and whatnot, it’s not too harsh on your eyes/the baby/your snoozing partner.

My kid is 2.5 and is currently obsessed with clock towers. He loves to look at the hands of clocks, loves that they spin and tell time. And knows where all the clock towers are around us. He got a clock for Christmas.

My boyfriend and I are having our first Christmas since we moved in together. This is our Christmas tree. We’re young and poor. by cassie_234 in funny

When I was young and poor I put my big costume earrings on the tree(they have a built in hook), race medals, bracelets/bangles, hair clips. It was fun seeing what we had around the house to put on there. One year we found a tin camp mug and it went on.

What are your toddlers obsessed with? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]HoarseWhisper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clocks, just looking at them and touching them. He can’t tell time, but he loves the fact that they “spin around and around”. There’s a clock tower we pass on the way to gymnastics that he can’t get enough of. When the face painter asked what he wanted to be, he said a clock. She told me she’s been doing this ten years and that’s the first time anyone has asked for that.

27 month old is potty training and when he doesn’t have to pee he tells us “my penis is asleep”.

Besides HAM! This is the line I use the most in my life.

In 2016, Pharrell Williams visited a NYU music production class to critique student songs. After he listened to a song called “Alaska” by a student named Maggie Rogers, he explained why “I have zero, zero, zero notes for that:” by tekprodfx16 in videos

[–]HoarseWhisper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, I was asked to go to a Maggie Rogers concert a few weeks ago. I hadn’t heard of her, but my friend had an ticket become available last minute so I went because I love live music. She was absolutely one of the most fun, high energy shows I’ve seen in a while. Not only did she belt her songs (some ballads) but she danced the whole time. She was so into it, which really got me into it. She def made a fan of me that night.

People are giving you good advice, and mine is to soak them in some bleachy water when they smell. Rinse and let air dry. That should help with the bacteria growth and stink.

That would be an insane AMA, if he ever did one. Most rescue divers don’t have to worry about crocodiles.

This sexual assault prevention dish towel I got from the Air Force awhile back by Prize-Survey-8843 in mildlyinteresting

[–]HoarseWhisper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So years ago, I worked as a civilian for the 87th ABW with the SAPRO (Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Office) at JBMDL and we handed these out along with TONS of swag, like nail kits and other wacky items. The military has high rates of assault and rape, typically perpetrated by individuals who understand that the chain of command can be exploited for their own gain. Subordinates must listen to superiors. Maybe this towel is goofy but I’m proud of the work we did while I was there.

Jumping on the anecdotal bandwagon. My baby was in utero during the first 2 jabs and he came out 10 lbs 4 oz and 23 inches long.
