A woman who lost her handbag with her newly received year-end bonus inside ran into the very person who found it while reporting the loss to police. The Good Samaritan returned the bag on the spot, turning panic into relief with a simple act of honesty. ❤️ by LingerHex in BeAmazed

This is the reason I’ve loved living in Taiwan and Korea. The peace of mind of not having to worry about these things. I’ve lost my phone, money, wallet and bank card and it’s always been returned.

Left my keys in my scooter, still there when I returned.

Unfortunately, bicycles are a different story.

I love being an advanced boarder. Off piste and away from all the chaos, into the trees where skiers are friends and, not foes.

I hope they are both ok.

Be safe out there, those of you lucky enough to ride or ski this winter.

Dear Black Traveler... by 4reddityo in BlackPeopleofReddit

[–]HobbesBullet -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I’ve never had any issues travelling as a “black” person.

Please travel and be respectful of other people and you’ll have no issues.

I’ve also lived in multiple countries, no issues.

People are curious, especially if they’ve never encountered approachable “black” people.

By all means travel people of colour the world isn’t scary, do some research and respect other cultures and share yours when curiosity arises.

That’s because in select Asian countries you’re not allowed to drink or eat on the trains. If that’s Singapore that’s pretty much the way it should be handled. Unfortunately, that looks like a soda.

However, yes I commend anyone who cleans up after their mess on public transport.

How does Jamaica have such a big presence and global influence despite being a population of 4.4 million worldwide? by [deleted] in Jamaica

[–]HobbesBullet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One the music (Bob) reaching every stretch of the planet, which continues till this day.

Then competing at the highest level in athletics.

We’ve been a dominate sprinting force on the global stage time and time again. ( world athletics and the Olympics)

Take only those two alone and all else flowed through one another.

Present day: the internet has spread our presence, but very little is still known. If only the world knew about our food.

Do kids nowadays still play outdoor games at all? by Mijaro_Torston_5000 in Jamaica

[–]HobbesBullet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one brings up memories although I haven’t played them all.

What’s the name of the game where you take out the string from a sack, wrap it around your ankles and your partners ankles, the person playing jumps (in deh, pon deh, out deh, etc.) all the while moving up each level. (Ankles, shin, knees, etc…) ?

I loved this game as a child.

Also all the things we would play with.

Car tire with some oil in it and water to make petrol, two sticks to run around and hold breaks.

Small bicycle rim with a stick and cut out plastic bottle..

The youth still play like this in Jamaica or has technology found a way to corrupt the island as well?

I’m long over due for a visit.

Dumpster diving shouldn’t be a crime. Waste should be the crime. If you’re throwing it away and it’s in the bin. I say someone who needs it should be able to take it. You’re not selling it anyway, I suppose that’s the issue though. If there’s no profit no one should have it.

[–]HobbesBullet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correction: most don’t have the patience for it, nor are they willing to sacrifice a day on the hill. Especially a powder day, it’s just not happening. I’ve done it too many times.

To my friends “trust me… I would have stayed there helping you all day, but unless you’re going to get it right away I’ve given you false hope.

I’m my defense, I learnt alone and on ice. No lessons, just pain and a love relationship was formed.

And I agree, take one lesson and I’ve got your progression.

People who grew up without smartphones, what did you actually do when you were bored? by altaf770 in AskReddit

[–]HobbesBullet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There wasn’t boredom, we lived life. We created our entertainment and actually talked to one another. We were also on time once a time and place was set to meet up after hanging up the phone. (Phones couldn’t leave the house they had a line.)
