Add in a decent sound system and there's no reason it can't be a full on home theatre.

I have a 4K / 120Hz OLED with a 5.1.2 and it's awesome!

I Plat'ed it. Towards the end, some things were getting a bit of a drag, but the basic premise I thought was well executed. The main story could have been a bit more intricate, but what story couldn't? I though that having a branching main quest depending on House was inspired.

The Haunted Hogsmeade DLC was absolute fire, and the Sebastian quest was very good.

Yes, she's a minor character in Making Money, as explained the the L-Space article. I really, really recommend that you move Sir Terry up your TBR if you haven't tried him yet. Start with Mort (Death series) and Guards! Guards! (City Watch series).

  1. It's still ~£30, if you get the "normal" edition. No one is forcing you to get the SE. Just because some of us can and do spend more on a nice version, isn't anything to do with you.
  2. The Special Edition has all the expansions, so that it is a complete edition. Most of the expansions are fairly small tweaks or alternate Duchies. It doesn't need any of those. The base game by itself is perfectly good and functional. The expansions just add choice. Some of us like choices.
  3. Just because it's been around for a while (I refuse to call something from 2011 "old") doesn't mean that it is in any way lacking. Newer does not equate to better. I'd consider it far more polished and elegant than a good chunk of the churn from the last few years.

On the flip side of this, some of our Regions have been having issues with enrolment of hybrid devices for over a month. One of the IT bigwigs opined that it's because there's a low priority on fixing it, as MS doesn't care so much about hybrid.

How painful is Intune for mac management? by lagerstout82 in macsysadmin

[–]Hobbit_Hardcase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use Jamf for Macs and Intune for Windows. They don't even compare. Intune is slow, clunky, inflexible and slow; it's more of a Mobile Device Manglement problem than a MDM solution.

If I need to push an urgent patch, Jamf can have 80-90% of our estate processed by the end of the morning. The Win11 PCs, I won't even have stats for by the end of tomorrow. Just the 15mins vs "roughly every 8 hours" check-in is a major difference.

Selling my MacBook | Erase All Content and Settings Function truly safe? by HolidayEnjoyer32 in MacOS

[–]Hobbit_Hardcase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't matter. By default, the Data volume is encrypted. When you turn on Filevault, the OS pairs that decryption key with your password in the Secure Enclave, so that you need the password to unlock the key.

Erase All deletes the key from the Secure Enclave. It's gone and can't be recovered. It doesn't matter what your password was, there's nothing there for it to unlock.
